Mirror in the Bathroom
The Beat Lyrics

Mirror in the bathroom
Please talk free
The door is locked
Just you and me
Can I take you to a restaurant
That's got glass tables?
You can watch yourself
While you are eating

Mirror in the bathroom
I just can't stop it
Every Saturday you see me
Window shopping
Find no interest in the
Racks and shelves
Just a thousand reflections
Of my own sweet self, self, self, self, self

Mirror in the bathroom
You're my mirror in the bathroom
You're my mirror in the bathroom
You're my mirror in the bathroom

Mirror in the bathroom
Recompense
For all my crimes
Of self defense
Cures you whisper
Make no sense
Drift gently into
Mental illness

Mirror in the bathroom
Please talk free
The door is locked
Just you and me
Can I take you to a restaurant
That's got glass tables
You can watch yourself
While you are eating

Mirror in the bathroom
Mirror in the bathroom
Mirror in the bathroom
Mirror in the bathroom
Mirror in the bathroom
Mirror in the bathroom

Quite possibly the best SKA/2 tone record of them all!, the bass on this tune is off the scale. What a group ‘The Beat’ were. At 55, I play their stuff all the time. What a great era for music the early 80’s were!

I agree. They were the best band that came out of the ska revival and it isn't close.

My teenage daughter told me today about a band she's 'discovered' on Spotify called The Beat, and started singing this song. I love it when she finds music from years gone by and falls in love with yet another musical genre. I would have killed for a Spotify at her age.

The Beat were a big love of my younger brothers and he converted me to them too. Wonderful song. They were a band used in quite a few films including Grosse Point Blank, Ferris Bueller, 50 First Dates.

It never gets old.

I am 14, I found this song after watching a film that was set in the 80’s. I love old music, it also goes hand in hand with old cars for me. Some of the songs I’ll always remember and cherish were ones played in my dad’s Rover P5B when I was little.

@Compost Corner it’s better than most music now because the older music tells more of a story
