One, two, three, four, one, two

Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, nineteen for me
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street
If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat
If you get too cold, I'll tax the heat
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet

'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Don't ask me what I want it for
(Ah ah, Mr. Wilson)
If you don't want to pay some more
(Ah ah, Mr. Heath)
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Now my advice for those who die (taxman!)
Declare the pennies on your eyes (taxman!)

'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman
And you're working for no one but me (taxman!)

When they say "Taxman" together, it feels like superhero theme song.

@Sunny Jim When was George Harrison ever a socialist? He wrote this when he discovered that the Beatles were liable to a 95% supertax introduced by Harold Wilson's Labour government. Their earnings placed them in the top tax bracket in the UK. I too would be pissed off!

@Lord Ithkos He could have heard the song before the show aired in the UK.... It was one of the most popular songs in the US at the time, the Beatles loved listening to American music. That same year they attended a private listening party for the Beach Boys album Pet Sounds, before it was released in the UK.

It's not though... More so an antagonist theme.

Lord Garmadon259 jobs that pay less than a living wage, provide poor working conditions, and force many employees into gov welfare programs. The Left probably understands it better than you. The Beatles are great though

@Brian Tim - In the U.K. and most, if not all, of other developed countries (including the states) the top 1% individual income “earners” account for 33% or more of income tax revenue, more than the “bottom” 90% earners combined in many cases. The rich pay plenty.
