Alongside the beekeepers
Feel the whole place buzzing
Some say it's a love hate relationship but
I'd say she just aims to take the mick
The first time was nothin' too serious
Just the passing of the honeymoon period
You wanna sleep with the light on I want it off
You wanna speak all night while im nodding off
One minute you wanna see me home
Till i'm there and you act like you wanna be alone
We're off track like a train in a wreck
When forced to look back there's a pain in my chest
A blank canvas that you painted with stress
No more love bites now it's a pain in the neck
She said every damn sound that I mutter
Will drift through one ear and gush out the other
Taking a liberty baby you're killing me
Saying the same things differently
Tell me why do I want you when I don't even need you
Every time that I see you it's like you're not even there
And she said why do I need you when I don't even want you
Every time I see you it's like you don't even care
And I know
That she can tell we sort of had it
Too much to carry how we ever gonna manage
Both look like we're not ready for the baggage
It's a wonder how we ever got married
Hahaha
Yeah that joke was harsh
But you know for start we both grown apart
You need love I need peace for now
When I ask can we please iron these creases out nah
The two of us are not the same now
What we used to love is what we hate now
Fireworks in the bedroom I miss that
Now im lucky to see a spark from a little match
Oh I shoulda put a ring on it
Well you're lucky I even put a fake bit of bling on it
Yeah that's a liberty but baby your killing me
Saying the same things differently
Tell me why do I want you when I don't even need you
Every time that I see you it's like you're not even there
And she said why do I need you when I don't even want you
Every time I see you it's like you don't even care
And I know that I don't
Yeah I know that I won't
Yeah I know that I don't
Yeah I know that I won't
Tell me why do I want you when I don't even need you
Every time that I see you it's like you're not even there
And she said why do I need you when I don't even want you
Every time I see you it's like you don't even care
And I know
The Beekeepers' song Queen Bee depicts a crumbling relationship between two people who have grown apart. The song is built upon vivid imagery, analogies, and metaphors that prompt vivid pictures in our minds. The first stanza in which the "Natural born spitting" happens alongside the beekeepers signify the innate tendency to quarrel, bicker, and argue that's brewing between the two people. The metaphor of the "Queen Bee" is used to depict the controlling and dominant nature of one of the partners.
The song's chorus depicts the contradiction of emotions both people feel about each other. The singer questions why they want someone they don't need while the partner questions why they need someone they don't want. The polarized feelings that the couple have for each other are why their relationship is "track off like a train in a wreck." The previous love has turned to hate, and they're struggling with their inability to move on.
In conclusion, The Beekeepers' song Queen Bee is a song about a relationship that has turned sour. It highlights the struggles of a couple that's grown apart, their conflicting emotions, and their inability to let go. The song uses vivid imagery, metaphors, and analogies to describe the situation and bring up emotions that many have experienced.
