Chantilly Lace
The Big Bopper Lyrics

Hello, baby
Yeah, this is the Big Bopper speakin'
Ha ha ha ha ha, oh you sweet thing
Do I what?
Will I what?
Oh baby, you know what I like

Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a pony tail a-hangin' down
That wiggle in the walk
And giggle in the talk
Makes the world go 'round
There ain't nothin' in the world
Like a big-eyed girl
That makes me act so funny
Make me spend my money
Make me feel real loose, like a long necked goose
Like a girl, oh baby, that's what I like

What's that baby, but, but, but?
Oh honey
But?
Oh baby, you know what I like

Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a pony tail a-hangin' down
That wiggle in the walk
And giggle in the talk
Makes the world go 'round
There ain't nothin' in the world
Like a big-eyed girl
That makes me act so funny
Make me spend my money
Make me feel real loose, like a long necked goose
Like a girl, oh baby, that's what I like

What's that, honey?
Pick you up at eight and don't be late?
But, baby, I ain't got no money, honey
Ha ha ha ha ha
Oh, all right, baby, you know what I like

Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a pony tail a-hangin' down
That wiggle in the walk
And giggle in the talk
Makes the world go 'round
There ain't nothin' in the world
Like a big-eyed girl
That makes me act so funny
Make me spend my money
Make me feel real loose, like a long necked goose
Like a girl, oh baby, that's what I like

This was one of the songs my grandpa loved to sing. Now that he’s passed every time I hear it, it makes me think of him! What a great song!

This was my late father’s favorite song too. I can still hear him singing along “ohhh baby you KNOWWWW what I like!”

So very talented. As were Ritchie Valens and Buddy Holly. The world lost three brilliant musicians that day. Men who had decades of fantastic music ahead of them. May they all rest in peace. :(

@aspenrebel The only thing that I could think about good about the 1960's was the fact they build great muscle cars back then and/or the best muscle cars in the 1960's.
Other than that, not a fan of: Jim Crow, the
whole Civil Rights era where foreign enemies and invaders were being treated better than citizens of this country based on how they looked and men had to fight just to be treated humanely, the time in Los Angeles when gang bangin started to get real tough and all the bad things that brought that we are still trying to out live, Vietnam and all the problems that that war caused, the streets being flooded with heroin and the mob era,.......not a pretty picture at all if you ask me.
