... is a South Florida based band anchored by songwriting partners KC Vinck and Marco Cocchiaro. They have developed a unique roots based musical style that is best described as rock and roll with a "twang". KC's up front vocals and Marco's "metalbilly" guitar style provides the band's signature sound that can be categorized as rock, country-rock or southern rock with crossover possibilities into country and pop markets as well. Marco and KC have collaborated on more than 50 songs since they teamed up in 1991. Their catalog consists of songs about love (found, lost, celebrated), life's simple luxuries (internet, microwave, and motorcycles), stories (an old west outlaw, growing-up, wild-women), topical situations (gas, politics, NASCAR), and many other topics that the average person can relate to.

The band released a demo CD ("Warning! Big Dogs Inside") in May 2005 for promotional purposes. The recording was made with Mauro Magellan (former drummer for Electra recording artists the Georgia Satellites) on drums and Steve Parke (a former member of recording artists Slyder) on Hammond B-3 and backing vocals.

BillySpeaks is another youtube/ Instagram account using button training to communicate. She acts pretty similar to Bunny too, with the staring at the wall for a few seconds then responding. She also doesn't often meow, and shows body language that on any non-speaking cat would look aggressive while shes talking.
She's even expressed a dislike for the Hamilton sound track, meaning she may even have musical preferences.

Lots of animals communicate in ways we don't yet understand, and are capable of learning how to talk, but we just haven't given them the chance yet.
Like, it's pretty common knowledge that pigs are very smart, playful, and do well as pets, but I haven't seen anyone try to button train one.

Same goes for Octopi, they're very smart, incredibly playful and sneaky, and can hold grudges, but I haven't seen anyone teach one to talk.

I think too many people think humans are separate from animals, when we aren't. We just picked a lot of stuff up faster, and then built a world to suit us.

@윤형석 I’ve also heard that dogs cannot express guilt, only fear that looks like guilt to us as we naturally put human emotions on them as a way of relating to them. I think Bunny might prove that wrong! It would be interesting to see if she could learn the difference between guilt and fear (sorry because scared of consequence or sorry because it was a bad thing to do)

That "Oops was the most mind-blowing thing for me, because it just feels like it shows a really comprehensive understanding of both the situation, and what "Oops" means. That's a weird concept to try and teach a dog, and the fact that Bunny used it *Correctly*, exactly as it is supposed to be used, it really cool. Bunny Gets it, even more than I keep expecting watching these videos.

It is pretty jaw dropping, Have you ever heard of the experiments with dolphins though? They managed to have conversations with them, also there is gorrilas that have an IQ of 75 and know 3,000 words in sign language.. Perhaps its obvious that a dog can comminucate like this if given enough time and support with learning.
Its still unreal though, But dogs are far from stupid

Bunny WAS RIGHT!!! Dogs hear so much better than us!!! The stranger was a black bird. Bunny was 'showing', that it was outside! Probably at some point it landed upstairs on upper floor. When you opened door upstairs, we could hear the call of the blackbird that was chaced away by your appearance! Bunny always knows best. I wonder how much she is frustrated when YOU cannot understand :-)))

I seem to recall chimpanzees that learnt sign language from other chimpanzees, so I think it's possible that not only could Bunny translate for another dog, but maybe even teach them to use the buttons themselves.

She uses 'stranger' for 'unknown'. (ow, stranger, paw) . You said, 'where stranger?' and she looked outside, considering. Was the sound she heard outside? 'home', she says. 'concerned, upstairs'. you're the one who said 'inside the home'. My totally unscientific take on this, she heard something on the roof. And maybe had no way of saying/conveying/understanding there is another level of up from upstairs.
Edit: since this video, another video came out that showed bunny understood 'upstairs' to man anything above her eye level. The cat, on its shelf, is 'upstairs', something on the kitchen counter is 'upstairs'. If there was something on the roof, with the words she had to work with and what she knew, it was a perfect sentence, conveying what she thought.

Seems likely. Some bird or something landed on the roof and Bunny heard a scratch. Being a protective doggo she immediately wanted to notify her Mom of the "Stranger". But she only knew it came from "upstairs", not how far upstairs, and even if she did she wouldn't be able to specify without lots of thought and her little brain was already overclocking trying to stay alert for the Stranger. So she just said "Home" and counted on Mom, who's ever so much more intelligent than Bunny and has deific powers over light and water and fire, to locate the Stranger on her own.
That Mom didn't do this was clearly proof she had an Oops.

“Concerned” really got to me. Sheepdogs worry! My family had a sheepdog who constantly made the rounds of the house. I’d be in the tv room downstairs, my mom would be reading in the living room, and my brother would be studying at the table. Ad she go from one member of her flock to the other. We’d all end up in the living room and she could finally lay down because she’d successfully herded us all into one place.

My new favorite YouTube channel !
I know that the jury is out on whether Bunny is cognisant and is communicating with intent, but to me , that controversy takes second place to her actual behavior.
I also enjoy seeing a dog that's being treated respectfully and properly; with frequent exercise, stimulation, enrichment and interaction.
But I would absolutely love to read a peer reviewed paper concluding that Bunny is talking :)

I honestly think we all do not know how well dogs hear.( ie: mules) Obviously we know they hear better than we do. But who knows if she heard something from further away down the road. Same goes for their sense of smell. Regardless Bunny is fascinating!!!

As others have said, Bunny's definition of "Stranger" and "Upstairs" do not directly correlate with how we understand those words. To Bunny, ""Stranger" does not mean "unknown human", but something like "unknown presence" perhaps. Likewise, Bunny's understanding of "Upstairs" is just "above her", and i don't know whether that definition is fixed or varies based on her own location at any given moment (e.g. whether the upper floor of your house ceases to be "Upstairs" when she is there).

Bunny's understanding of "Home", "Mom", and "Concerned" seem to be more closely mapped to our own understanding of those words, though. "Home" is "place where we live away from outside", and is fairly concrete, except that "Home" does not necessarily mean "indoors", as Bunny's understanding of "Home" could extend to the environment around your home (especially if Bunny doesn't know where, precisely, something is). "Concerned" could mean "Alert" or "Worried", but the broader connotation is "I am aware of something possibly being amiss". "Mom" is clearly just "You", and is simple enough.

When Bunny says "Mom. Stranger. Home. Concern. Upstairs.", that doesn't necessarily mean "Mom, i think there's a stranger in the house and i'm worried about it.". It could also mean "Mom, i heard something around the house; i don't know what it is, and it's bothering me.". In this case, as others have said, Bunny may have heard a bird on the roof, and - not knowing how else to describe the sound - simply described it as "stranger [at] home".

As for the "Oops"... i really don't know what to think of it. It might be an admission of error on her part, or a jibe at you for not properly understanding her (i.e. she's saying that you made a mistake). It could be something else entirely. However, i don't think it was random. After watching enough of these videos, i think that - with only a few exceptions - Bunny chooses her words before she "speaks". She had some reason to push the "Oops" button, even if we're not sure why.

UT makes me wonder truly how much more they can hear see or feel a on unknown presence such as...yah maybe spirits...i have a very crazy dog that I would like to play around with giving words and buttons to that sometime I think sees things others don't or possibly it's just an interpretation. Once we went on a walk someone had a flat metal moose silhouette on their fence next to what my neighborhood calls the dog park which is simply a trees and fenced parcel of land with a water treatment bldg on it. This dog was just fine untilbsuddenly it caught a glimpse if the silhouette and viciously started barking at it but also there was a sense of scared and a searching for the way out the fence...very comical on one level but so not on others because often he will bark and I will even get on his level and see nothing other times I see things I can't even explain regardless the tone of the barks are the same...smh

She's a dog so it's possible she picked up a scent she didn't recognize. Seemed like the upstairs door was open which might explain why she said upstairs because that's where the scent was coming from?

She swore up and down that there was someone in the house, and I'm betting that Mommy checking on it made her feel that much better. So the "Oops!" was twice as funny. But when you told her initially that there was no stranger in the house, she looked at you like, "You lying sack."

Bunny hears 6 times better than a human, with olfactory efficacy that makes us all look "stubbed ub." She may know more than you think! Even an animal like a squirrel could be a "stranger" that she can sense on or in the house.

Thing is, dogs are far more aware than us humans. It probably was a rodent in the walls or a bird on the roof. There ~~was~~ something there, but in this case it was harmless. Never doubt your dog's acute awareness of their surroundings. They have lived with us humans for ages because they helped us primitive people survive the unknown, weird, and wild by alerting us to all possible threats to their family. Its for this reason, I will always trust my dogs above any person alive.

100%! I trust my dog's nose & ears completely. He is my "first alert" security system. He lets me know if there's even a stranger across the street. But oh boy! ANYONE coming to the front door knows there is a dog in my house that will take you down if needed. Even people he knows get the barks & the once-over sniffing, just to be sure.

I have not been able to watch bunny for about ten months. The amount of improved cognitive ability is astounding. Was he playing a trick on you or having a psychological fear? Either is an unbelievable breakthrough in intelligence. Amazing

For several decades now researchers have been studying the cognitive abilities of dogs. They found that dogs have the same cognitive ability as human children. Functional MRIs have demonstrated they share the same emotions as humans as well. Bunny is living proof of their findings. However, I think Bunny is exceptional even among the smartest of dogs. And oh, Bunny, I love you!

Curious that she sniffed the floor after saying stranger home. I wonder if she might have been trying to communicate that someone she didn't recognize had previously been in the house. Possibly a mouse or other visitor? Possibly an invited guest that she hadn't been home to meet?

I must have seen this before, but what a clever girl! She must have heard something and thought it was a noise upstairs caused by a stranger! I'm glad you were there to help her through this though, I just dread if you're in bed one night and hear "Stranger, home, concerned" and when you check, Bunny and Otter and Dad are right next to you.

Genuinely curious: how do you teach a dog to communicate an abstract feeling like concern? Training em to communicate physical objects and places is one thing, but how do you create the relationship between that feeling and a word? Just spam it when they’re worried?

I love watching bunny. I've constantly been showing my wife these videos. I've always thought animals think like we do but not with words and seeing the wheels turn in bunny's head makes me appreciate even more the animals around me.

It's interesting I picked up on these videos with the dogs and the buttons in the last few days and of course more and more have been suggested. Some have just a few buttons others have many. Your bunny has very many. It's interesting to see what feels like the dog is talking to you. I didn't have buttons when I grow up for our dogs but I did try to have a good grasp of their behavior and understand their language more. Interesting experiment these buttons

I love that we are finally getting proof of what dog lovers have known all along, that dogs understand much of what we say to them. I’ve always talked to my animals and felt sure they understood much of what I was saying. Now we have cats and dogs talking to us with our own words and I see how we have been talking with each other all along. Dogs totally have a sense of humor and they take their guarding responsibilities so seriously. Bless their little hearts.

I speculate because she can "communicate" with her differently language pack that she feels closer and protective of them in a way that is deeper and more rounded of a connection than a usual concept of human animal relation. Mom is not alerting to strange noises, strange smells, strange things, only Bunny does. Maybe because Mom/Dad do not react or alert to "strange" things, Bunny on some level is seeded to be even more alert for them. Mom/Dad have power of walk, food, water, outside. That is their responsibility. Bunny's role, task, work ( cos she is a work breed) is to alert to strange and strangers. I am on the side of the jury that she is communicating and understands some concepts. A person has to imagine we are on a space ship and we press a button and a food pellet comes out, we press a button and the door opens to the bathroom, we press a button and sometimes we get to go outside the ship, we press rows of buttons and we get to go to the top of the ship, we press a button when we see alien Bob and Bob comes and interacts with us. So we learn what buttons to press to express our needs. The language button could be any language button and that sound is what causes results. I dont know if beautiful Bunny understands the words, I 100% believe she understands that these sounds make this happen when pressed.
