BOOMERANG
The Black Lips Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

If I had all my karma and it all came back to me
then I'll have it like a boomerang
Thrown farther than eyes could see
If I had it like a boomerang
Thrown farther than eyes could see
Id have all my karma coming back to me

Back to me
Back to me
Back to me

If I had all my problems and they all came back to me
then I'll have it like a boomerang
Thrown farther than eyes could see
If I had it like a boomerang
Thrown farther than eyes could see
Id have all my karma coming back to me

Back to me

Back to me
Back to me

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to The Black Lips's song "Boomerang" express the idea that an action or behavior will come back around, just like a boomerang that returns to the person who threw it. The lyrics suggest that the singer believes in karma, and that they are hoping for good karma to be returned to them. They say that if all their karma comes back to them like a boomerang, they will receive it even stronger and farther than before.

The chorus of the song, with the repeated phrase "back to me," emphasizes the theme of karma coming full circle. The lyrics also mention having all their problems come back to them, implying that the singer is willing to face the consequences or challenges that may come with their actions, rather than trying to avoid them or sweep them under the rug.

Overall, the lyrics of "Boomerang" convey a sense of accountability and responsibility for one's actions, with a belief that what goes around comes around.

These guys are pretty much a sixties band except with out-of-tune voices--I LOVE THEM.

Saw Black Lips many many times but one of my favorite memories was at a FYF in 2009. Has been drinking all night, looking for something else to get high on. Scored a strong E pill but we only had one between my friend and I. We split it and then maybe 20 min later realized Black Lips was supposed to play so we’re running towards their stage and as I’m coming over this hill, the pill starts hitting and I can hear this song being played. They were so fantastic that night.
