Seymour is one of the few Final Fantasy interracial characters, along with Cecil Harvey, Golbez, Terra Branford, Aerith Gainsborough and Yuna.
The Guado Mansion's foyer has portraits of a young Seymour, Jyscal, and two other Guado. The latter two are likely Jyscal's father and paternal grandfather.
Seymour was considered to be in Dissidia Final Fantasy as the Chaos representative of Final Fantasy X, but was rejected in favor of Jecht. Various traits of his, however, were included with Emperor Mateus in Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy, and the rivalry between Yuna and the Emperor in that game is similar to her rivalry with Seymour Guado.
If the player obtains the aeon Anima and uses her against Seymour, he responds, "You would oppose me as well? So be it".
According to a female Ronso non-playable character in Luca, Seymour was the first summoner ever appointed a Maester of Yevon in the church's long history.
According to Japanese voice actor Jun'ichi Suwabe, Seymour was known by many nicknames, including "naked necktie" due to the beads that form a similar shape to a necktie on Seymour's chest.

Personally, I'd say the voice actor was only good at Flux and Omnis. His quiet soft spoken voice really didn't suit him, whereas when he was shouting/speaking maniacally it really suited him

Thank you, Someone who actually really likes VIII, That was the FF game that got me to buy a PS. When I saw it the graphics were amazing the story pulled me in right away and the main character and I were around the same age, I was 16 at the time. The story was great and yes Ultimecia was an odd villain. The fact is though she the power to compress time and influence events through others in the past and that was impressive. You thought Edea was evil until you learn the truth.

It’s been a long time since I have heard this track - about 16 years now. It was 2005 and I had felt in love for the first time in my life but unfortunately the girl was into someone else and I was only her best friend. Anyway, at some point I just had to confess to her and wrote everything down in about 3 or 4 handwritten dinA4 pages, jumped on my bike while having this track blasting out of of my headphones and riding across the streets to her parents house like a maniac only to find out she wasn’t home and have the envelope with my first openly confessed emotions to her grandma, politely asking her to hand it out to her, all just because I couldn’t handle the pain within my chest anymore while not really understanding what was going on. Anyway, I may haven’t got the girl - but I will always know that at least I tried and also I had an amazing ride.

XIII is my fav because i actually can relate to the characters and the character development is beyond better than previous FF and it shows a lot of promise in story. The only problem is battles get really difficult later on but it helps you to broaden your horizons to try different strategys. The grinding is the worst part and changing team mates on the last part of CD 2 on 360 version and leader on last disc they screwed up unlocking systems it was very disorganized

I agree with you wholeheartedly. FFXII was an amazing game with great attention to detail and fun factor as well as replay value, yet it lacked in the story to make it a true Final Fantasy story. But again, FFXII was fun as hell!

12 was good in it's strengths. The music was great at times. Most characters were likable. The visuals were stunning for the time. (PS2) The story may be a bit of a mess in it being so scattered, but that's about it's biggest fault and it isn't so bad not to give it a try. The combat was great in that everything was on one map, you still had complete control of the characters. Not to forget, the essence of freedom was still present, there weren't many "40 hour hallway walks" (VGCats FTW)

It is an odd system and I guess that's why I like it. It's also easiest to beat the game while staying at low levels (getting the card ability with Quetzalcoatl allowed you to kill enemies without gaining xp but gaining AP which using card mod later allowed you to quickly refine everyone into the magic you'd want) and by that time with -aga and -ara magic junctioned you were so much stronger than the enemy.

i liked how you and the antagonist had the EXACT same goal and your only seperation was the end justified the means...honestly the story felt like an old arthurian tale in some ways, and honestly it reminded me of the worlds of FF 1-6 lol

I agree. Only his first and third battles were difficult. He was the most direct and persistent antagonist and deserved to be the true final boss instead of a warm-up before Braska's Final Aeon.

Even then, it's 12 successful "9-draws" to max out a magic. Also, with the Junction system (mind you this was my experience), I felt pressured to draw every powerful magic I found, which especially made certain bosses more tedious than fun. Off the top of my head, fighting Seifer for the last time was just Draw->Aura->Stock spamming. But hey, you like it so that's good :L

In the end, what matters isn't that you saved Dalmasca, what matters is that Venat got what he wanted, a world free of the Occuria's control. It's hard to call him a vilain, even after all he did and that's why i feel the story is good. It's deep. It has many different interpertations and the surface of what they tell you is merely scratching it, you have to think on it to understand it all. I may have missed some things, but the story is kinda vast, I think I got my main points across though.

well, I had a few easily solved problems with the game. The storywriting. 6 had way more characters (14 iirc) and each had a better story behind each than any ONE of these 6 in 12. Sad thing is Larsa (rpc) was the best character wise in it. Silly things like "Help my mom was pushed" "Help, my mom is dead" in that holy city was just "WHAT?! XD" battle system was fine, missing out on the strongest weapon from the first chest in the game NOT FINE. messing up summons and limit breaks not fine.

It was a great game with a great story and getter characters than most of the other games. I love the turn based battles and the difficulty was perfect as well as top notch visuals. You want a FF game that isn't that great? play VII, the battle system sucks balls and Cloud is an emo vag with no character development.

I notice a lot of people had problems with that. Actually, it wasn't that bad. You didn't HAVE to draw from an enemy. Usually draw in combat should be used as Draw>Cast so you didn't waste stock and using GF refine abilities gave you the magic really fast.

Ah, I haven't gotten a chance to play 9 yet but i am planning on getting around to it soon. As for FFXIII, I'm probably the only person in the world who actually felt for Hope. In fact, he was probably the only character that seemed to be reacting on a 'realistic' level, but that's just how I saw it. And yes, Tidus just acts as the player, asking questions when needed, allowing for a reason for everything to be overly explained. However, I think 'Spira' is the main character of X.

I enjoyed the political story, it was a brilliant title on it's own in my eyes, you played as Vaan, but he wasn't essentially the main character that everything revolved around, it was more Basch and Ashe

There were little things in 8 I didn't like, some of the monsters were overpowered and the fact that they level up with you was kind of annoying. The rest of the game was great. Yeah some characters were weak like Zell, I didn't like him and barley used him. You could say the same for Selphie too but without her the team never would have remembered that they all knew each other. Rinoa was great, she was the one person who got through to squall and changed him for the better.

You find out that Cid talking to himself was not of madness, he just had a rogue Occuria talking to him. The Occuria had controled and predicted everything the humans did in Ivalice. Remeber the Dynast King? The Occuria backed him up, he had the Sword of Kings AND deifacted Nethecite which is made by Occuria. Venat didn't agree with this and seeked a human, deciding on Archadia's best scientist. he taught him all about nethecite and even taught him to manufact it.

12 was really fun to play. though i didnt care much for vaan and penelo... they were useless...and it didnt really have an emotion tied to it like the other ff. Tidus was kinda useless but he was essential in the ffx story (yuna will always be the main character in X) the only one on the fence for me was 9...but still better than 13 (just eye candy in my opinion, and lightning was the only character i slightly cared about in 13/13-2)

Ashe is pretty much blinded by vengance at this points so she goes there. Cid there no longer HAS Venat, you find this strange. There, after qute a bit of fighting, Ashe agrees with Vaan, which actually DID something on the story, to not use the Treaty Blade to cut a part of the nethecite for herself but to destroy it. Cid does die, but explains his motivations. He doesn't CARE about the war,he just wants Ivalice to be free, even if Vayne gets the throne.He still wantted to backstab him though.

But personally it gives him character and separates him from the rest of the main FF characters. And at least he smiles and has hope even in the darkest and stressful of times (with him being homesick, having an abusive father who is now a monster killing everyone and all).

Besides, the UI in battle is clean and simple. You don't ever get punished for choosing your own attacks, they give you just enough time to do it. And you don't have to go through countless menu options, just Abilities -> Fira.

Many people think FFXI is crappy, it had an involvement of both the FFX-2 and FFXII's battle system which personally for me, is the best battle system I could play on... can't stand whether it's random battle, action-pauses-to-select-spells, or you're stuck in one spot. XI had the, you could run anywhere and everywhere during battle(With a lock-on); Choice of: Attack, Ranged, Spells, Job Abilities, Weapon Skills(This would be X's Overdrive basically), all of this with featured skill-ups.

I like to pretend 12 wasn't a final fantasy game. Cause as a stand alone its very well put together and fun as hell! Lots of neat areas and exploration for ages but it lacked a story that was memorable and meaningful, which is what the final fantasy series is mainly known for.

Whenever I see, 'Tidus didn't have enough backstory to be a well developed character.' It's like, shut up, man. Tidus was like, a figment of their imagination. At the end of X, it was like he never even existed. I felt he was the bond that brought all the characters together, embodied. And at that, he had more than enough purpose.

@Tomas Garcia Quickenings were awful, really hammy bullshit (okay, so chaining could do a lot of damage) and espers were useless. The gimmick was quickly shown for the fault it was. Getting rid of two superior units for an esper? Not worth the mp cost.

So, technically no. 12 didn't have them.

The Cryst begins to overload adn Reddas, which was the judge who used the nethecite in Nabudis, becomes total badass and atones for that by destroying it and dying there. With that energy though, the Bahamut, Cid's final weapon, takes off to Rabanastre. You eventually defeat Vayne inside it, but if you realize, Venat, which was with Vayne, tells Vayne it's okay and thanks him for helping him reach his puporse by fusing with him and making "The Undying".

I appreciate that it was quite an innovation. But the pace was just too slow for me. The worlds are easily the most labyrinthine in FF and definitely warrant the ingame map. Which further bogged down moving from one part of the game to the next. Some of the boss fights are ridiculous. Bosses with 50 million HP aren't more fun or challenging, only more tedious. Where's the innovation here? FFX tried to spice up with boss fights with tirgger commands. This is a step backward.

You defeat him and end the war. But most importantly, think back to what Venat said. You ended him, but with only the people's power. You did not fall onto the Occuria for help. Vayne was evil, Cid was not but that doesn't matter. The fight for "good" was only covering up the unseen fight between Human's and the figures that control people's lives with their existance, Gods and such, even politicans at times. It was a metafor how WE could think and do things for ourselves. No matter how hard.

Sure only having access to your limit break when you heath was low was weird but that's what aura was for. People didn't like the junction system, at first I hated it too but then I learned that if you can understand and master it you can make the game your bitch. I also thought it was interesting and assuming you've played the game that Laguna's son and Julia's daughter ended up being in love when the the two of them ended up taking different paths.

This where we disagree. The beggining of the story in XII SEEMED absolute horseshit yes, it almost made you stop playing, but the payoff to all that slow... SLOW build up was extraordinary. The moment Cid steps on the scene the game had a FF-worthy plotline. He just brought so much to the table. Opinions I guess.

Well it wasn't so much "new" summons as re-hases of the same summons. It's laughable how FF10 actually tried to give an atmosphere of suspense by precluding Shiva's name the first time you summon her, in the middle of the ice temple! I only trudged through that game for the kick ass boss fights. Remember how you get to the Bikanel desert? The FF team wrote themself into a corner, so they had Sin fart on everyone to teleport them! The writing just fell to shit with FF10.

So, by absorbing all the sorceress' powers throughout time, she thinks she'll be strong enough to take on anyone who tries to kill her. Her fear of them comes when again as Edea she mocks everyone for cheering for her while in the future they'd hunt her down. She's actually the only ff villain who's not pure evil, selfish as the act and how it comes out in the end, it was everyone else who drove her to it. And yes, other characters in the cast sans Squall and rinoa don't do anything later.

The battle for Nabudis was when the Occuria realized Venat was a problem. Rather than have the predictions come through, Venat and Cid just blew the fuck out of everyone there. Ever since then, the Occuria have struggled to get back in control. They needed a good puppet. They try to use Ashe for that, giving her the Treaty Blade and poiting her to the largest deifacted nethecite, the Sun Cryst, for her to use and destroy the Empire, Vennat with it and put Ivalice back into her hands.

Woah, man. I like Final Fantasy XIII a lot, but it's not THAT good, it's certainly NOT the best in the series. I mean I think it's a great game, and it definitely doesn't deserve all the flack it gets, but it DOES have some issues that REALLY set it back. Also I never had to grind in that game. I just did a bunch of side quests on Gran Pulse and tried a lot of different strategies. It did get a lot harder near the end though, I'll give you that.

The Ragnarok was a bit coincidental, yes, but they tried to explain it that it was RECENTLY abandoned as it circles Lunar base because that's what those ships do, take people into space then back down but it got caught by those monsters and they fled immediately. They said a time duration I think of been missing for a week or something. I do think the other characters needed more backstory, but FF8 still had a good world, battle system and IMO the most thought out endgame villain.

ffx was good. had a real good story that i still remember today. thou my favorit is ff7. thou 'm guessing ff7 is the most liked in the FF series. consider all the mini games, followups and Advent children. dierge of cerberus and so on. but a remake would be what all would like most. no doubts.

I don't know, FFXIII felt like an FF game to me, though that might be a matter of personal opinion. And concerning the Auto-Battle... Are you seriously telling me it shouldn't be there? The battles are too fast paced to be fidgeting around chaining all your attacks together, that's why there's the very helpful repeat command. Also, the strategy of the battles isn't about choosing attacks, it's finding effective Paradigms and knowing when to switch them.

Every other FF, the villain is just evil for the hell of it. Sure, you only see ultimecia at the end in shell, but you DO 'see' her early enough. Her influence is done from the beginning and unlike other games, if you don't pay attention to what SHE says and what the white SeeDs say, you'd be completely lost on her goal and reasoning. But yes, it had shitty characters: Zell, Irvine, Selphie... Quistis started with some story, but it fell fast.

Dang, I honestly did not know that but as long as the dub is remastered instead of the original I'm cool with that.

To me, the arrival of the end times was signaled even earlier! In FF8! The villan is boring and doesn't even bother to show up untill the very end of the game. Her motive is to destroy time because she's bored or something, at least Kefka had the excuse of being hurt and crazey. There are so many plotholes, like the anti-magic feild, or the Ragnerok showing up when Squal and Rinoa are drifting in space by complete accident! Many of the chracters do nothing to forward the plot!

ff8 was a bit more cryptic actually. She doesn't want to 'destroy' time, but she knows from the future from the junction machine ellone that someone is going to kill her. It is also stated in her speech through Edea that people go on a sorceress hunt again sometime in the future like they did in the past (learned on the white seed ship) And Ultimecia doesn't want to be a victim as her destiny was told was. Squall was NEVER the original SeeD to kill her. HE became the final loop that killed her.

well i've never met anyone that liked the whole junction and draw system but i guess it might appeal to some people. im abit bitter with this game cause its the only final fantasy i picked up and never completed it. maybe i'll give it a second go of it and use the walkthrough to totally put it to rest.
