We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
As daylight fades we celebrate
The end is near, your end is here
The night it brings us our fate
This isn't love, this is war
This is the night we said we would be fighting for
This isn't love, this is war
This is the night we swore that we would call our own
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
The fire burns into the sky
The sun goes down, your end is here
Lighting eyes in the night
Be one of us, be one of us
This isn't love, this is war
This is the night we said we would be fighting for
This isn't love this is war
This is the night we swore that we would call our own
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
This isn't love, this is war
This is the night we said we would be fighting for
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
We are the children of the night
We are the children
The lyrics of The Blackout's song "Children Of The Night" can be seen as a call-to-action to join the nocturnal lifestyle. The repetition of "We are the children of the night" throughout the song creates a sense of unity and belonging among those who prefer to thrive in the darkness. The lyrics suggest that the night is a time to celebrate and embrace, as the end of the day means the end of conventional societal expectations. "The fire burns into the sky" and "lighting eyes in the night" paint a picture of wild abandon and a disregard for typical rules and regulations.
The lyrics also have a sense of rebellion and a willingness to fight against the traditional norms of society. The repetition of "this isn't love, this is war" suggests that those who live at night are willing to fight for their lifestyle, to protect it from the critique and judgement of those who do not understand it. The line, "the night it brings us our fate" suggests that those who live at night are accepting of the unpredictability that comes with being up during those hours. The chorus serves as both a chant of camaraderie and a challenge to those who do not understand the night owl lifestyle.
Overall, "Children Of The Night" can be interpreted as an anthem for the unconventional and a call-to-action for those who thrive in the darkness. It's a celebration of rebellion and a willingness to fight for a lifestyle that deviates from the norm.
