The Blackout are a post-hardcore/screamo band formed in 2003 in South Wales… Read Full Bio ↴The Blackout are a post-hardcore/screamo band formed in 2003 in South Wales and drawing influences from across the board, they combine heavy crunching guitars, riffs, screams and thunderous drumbeats with beautiful melodies and emotionally driven vocals.

The band has played shows in and around the UK with the likes of Funeral for a Friend, Fightstar, Avenged Sevenfold, dredg, 18 Visions, Thrice, Hidden in Plain View, My Chemical Romance, Lostprophets and You Me At Six.

They were also nominated at the 2006 Kerrang Awards for Best British Newcomer but lost out to Bring Me The Horizon.

The Blackout released their debut mini album entitled 'The Blackout! The Blackout! The Blackout!' on October 23rd 2006 through Fierce Panda Records and the first single taken from it was 'Hard Slammin'.

The album 'We Are The Dynamite' was released on October 1st 2007 through Fierce Panda Records.

Their new album, "The Best In Town" was released in the UK on May 25th 2009; the tracks 'ShutTheFuckUppercut' and 'Children of the Night' were available for early preview.

They are also one of the only 3 unsigned bands to ever sell out the London Astoria, the only other 3 being Enter Shikari, You Me at Six and The Darkness

What the band needs to do is get in the studio edit all their previously released tracks into instrumentals. As if they never had vocals I’m sure they still have the original recordings some where just remove Ian’s vocals. Release them all as instrumentals and start a clean slate. Find a new better vocalist. Or even have one of the original band members step up to take over. Then lostprophets can carry on without a notorious pedophile in the band. Cause like stated above. The rest of the band have been forgotten about and aren’t getting the recognition they deserve because of one man’s depraved actions, they should have seen that as a point to either change the bands name or style. Many bands have carried on after losing a vocalist due to either sexual assault accusations or death. Just look at dance Gavin dance and tilian at the minute, he’s been accused of sexual misconduct whether true or not in this specific case no one knows (Ian’s case we all knew he’s guilty he had no remorse when discovered either) but the band carries on and are just finding a fill in or a permanent replacing depending on outcomes or whether tilian decided to come back, I don’t really know the ins and outs it’s just an example. But yeah this should have been their step forward!

They split around 5 years ago. Sean started a band called the raiders and the sappening podcast. There's quite a few blackout episodes on there where the band come in and talk about old times.

Ian is Ian. The guy is a great vocal. The Band suck´s, they are kind of exagerate singing, and Ian brought the balance, just fora short time, but he was good.
