Did you know you were never gonna take it back
I'm sorry we left you behind
You need to know this was never our plan of attack
I'm sorry we took your crown
We never wanted to become enemies
I'm sorry we made up your mind
And you'll never know, never get it right
Coming in for you, going in for the kill just like we always will
And you'll never know, never get it right
Yeah, come on
I'm sorry for what we've done
The time has come to through this shit away
I'm as surprised as you
I didn't know how deep it would cut your pride
We've gone and left you behind
No apologies for what we've done
We're better than your kind
You can't bring us down
And you'll never know, never get it right
Coming in for you, going in for the kill just like we always will
And you'll never know, never get it right
Yeah, come on
You can't bring us down, we're the best in town
You can't bring us down, we're the best in town
You can't bring us down, we're the best in town
You can't bring us down, we're the best in town
And you'll never know, never get it right
And you'll never know, never get it right
And you'll never know, never get it right
Coming in for you, going in for the kill just like we always will
And you'll never know, never get it right
Coming in for you, coming in for you just like we always do
The Blackout's song "STFUppercut" seems to be a sarcastic and defiant response to someone who feels wronged or betrayed by the singer. The lyrics suggest that the singer is aware that they have hurt or angered this person, but at the same time, they seem to be saying that they are not sorry for their actions and that they will continue to do whatever they want without fear of repercussions.
The lines "I'm sorry we took your crown/ We never wanted to become enemies" suggest that the singer has somehow toppled the other person from a position of power or authority, but that they didn't intend to create this conflict. However, the subsequent lines "You can't bring us down" and "We're better than your kind" indicate that the singer is not willing to back down or apologize, but instead is asserting their superiority and confidence in their own actions.
The chorus reinforces this message of defiance and inevitability, with the repeated lines "And you'll never know, never get it right/ Coming in for you, going in for the kill just like we always will/ Yeah, come on." The phrase "going in for the kill" suggests a predatory or aggressive stance, and the repetition of "just like we always will" emphasizes the singer's determination and persistence.
Overall, the song creates a sense of tension and conflict, with the singer seemingly enjoying the power they have over the other person while also acknowledging their guilt or regret. The sarcastic and confrontational tone of the lyrics, combined with the intense and energetic music, creates a feeling of defiance and rebellion that may resonate with listeners who have also experienced conflicts or power struggles in their own lives.
