And leaps and glides and slides

And all around the wall
A splotch, a blotch
Be careful of The Blob

I remember being so shocked when Paul died since I thought he was the main character. And the practical effects for his death were amazing to me at the time. I think they still hold up really well.

Chronoslayer

Agree. Of all the horror movie ways to die we've seen over the last few decades, this movie's are still the most awful imaginable to me.

GVBRIEL The teammate? The one who insinuated to the preacher that Paul needed the propholylactics?

Dimitri V

Me too, I was just a kid when I saw this. He was the first one to appear and then this happens 😢

The Movie Guru

Not to mention that the actor who played Paul in the 1988 Blob remake movie was the third top billed actor.

Chronoslayer

They went out of their way to upend convention with the victim list in this movie. To craft that dreadful sense of there being no refuge -- no one being safe. Just one more reason its a great horror movie.

FACT: You saw this scene way younger than you should have, and you were traumatized.

Groundhog Day

I'm still haunted by the original.

Spring's Bliss

Nah, I don't remember this scene at all. The telephone booth scene is what traumatized me. Unless I am thinking of a completely different movie

ScoobyDooIsDead

Grandpa thought he was showing me the 1958 Blob and played this movie, stopped it right after this scene lol
