The band then began to take on a life beyond the confines of the television screen, releasing an album, Briefcase Full of Blues, in 1978, and then having a Hollywood film, The Blues Brothers, created around its characters in 1980.
After the death of Belushi in 1982, the Blues Brothers have continued to perform with a rotation of guest singers and other band members. Aykroyd reunited the original band in 1988 for a world tour and again in 1998 for a sequel to the film, Blues Brothers 2000. Aykroyd and the band, occasionally joined by Belushi's brother Jim, make regular appearances at musical festivals worldwide.

With two girls in a light blue Desoto
One's name was Jane, the other was plain
But they both had racing motors
Next I caught a ride with a gamblers wife
She had a brand new lay down Rambler
She parked inside of town, layed the Rambler down
I'm doing my best to get back to you
Ain't nothing I'd rather do
Look for me Sunday, gonna be there, honey
With something special just for you
Special just for you
Made a truck stop, toothpick and water
I got a ride from a fruit pickers daughter
Drove her through the night, let the fruit just rot
She said "All I could eat for a quarter"
Next, hopped a train with a hobo woman
Said she's from Texas too
The way that she did, what she did
When she did, what she did to me, made me think of you
Yeah, honey, made me think of you
I'm doing my best to get back to you
Ain't nothing I'd rather do
Look for me Sunday, gonna be there, honey
With something special just for you
Special just for you
Yeah, honey something special just for you
The lyrics of "B" Movie Box Car Blues by The Blues Brothers narrate the journey of a man trying to get back to someone he loves. He describes his adventure through different rides and the people he meets along the way. The first two women he travels with are in a light blue Desoto, who are named Jane and a plain girl but both have racing motors. The man then catches a ride with a gambler's wife who has a brand new lay down Rambler. She invites him to town and mentions something about "digging him" if he knew her.
He eventually makes it to a truck stop and hitches a ride with a fruit picker's daughter. He then jumps on a train with a hobo woman from Texas who reminds him of the person he's trying to get back to. Throughout the lyrics, the man keeps reassuring his sweetheart that he's trying his best to make it back to her and has something special just for her. The lyrics overall depict the singer's desire and need to be with someone he loves and the lengths he will travel to get back to her.

the power of this outro on the album is MIND BLOWING . Jordan's drums are sharp as a tack, the guitar work and keys build - and then whammmm that horn section !!!
Anthony Lowe
That outro and Steve’s sorta “flooded carbeurator” sound picking up the beat is one of the tastiest licks I’ve ever heard.
