They made a name for themselves by consistently touring over the United States. Rather than signing with a known label, they initially decided to found their own, Chunksaah Records (named after their long-time friend Timmy Chunks), but are now releasing their albums on Epitaph Records.
The Bouncing Souls are one of the best selling and longest lived of the punk bands from New Jersey, following the legacy of previously successful punk bands Adrenalin OD and the Misfits.

Misled again we take up guns and blow it all away
Brothers lost to who we are in terror we exchange
Sleep walking into mass graves
Bought and sold like slaves
It's the end of the old
A new era unfolds
We won't hear you
We won't hear you
Yeah!
Burned again we stand and fight into the longest night
Facing death we know there's more inside we see a light
Time has come to all rise up cannot be denied
It's the end of the old
A new era unfolds
Like a thief in the night taking everything
We won't hear you
We won't hear you
We won't hear you, baptized
We won't hear you, in fire!
We won't hear you, baptized
We won't hear you, in fire!
Fires raging in black days casting a new light
No more objects in our way the path comes into sight
Kings and thieves all haunted men running in the night
It's the end of the old
A new era unfolds
Like a thief in the night taking everything
We won't hear you
We won't hear you
We won't hear you, baptized
We won't hear you, in fire!
We won't hear you, baptized
We won't hear you, in fire!
The Bouncing Souls' song "Baptized" is a song that comments on the current state of the world and its seemingly perpetual cycle of violence and oppression. The lyrics speak to the idea that people are constantly being misled and brainwashed into fighting for beliefs and causes that ultimately only bring destruction and misery to themselves and society. The verses describe the horrors of war and the exploitation of people, with lines like "sleep walking into mass graves" and "bought and sold like slaves."
However, the choruses provide a glimmer of hope and a call to action. The singer urges the listener to rise up and fight against oppression and the forces that seek to control and exploit humanity. The repetition of "We won't hear you, baptized, in fire!" further reinforces the idea of rebirth and transformation, as if the singer and the listener are being purified and reborn through the act of resistance.
Overall, the lyrics of "Baptized" are a powerful call to action that speaks to the frustration and anger many people feel about the current state of the world. The song has a sense of urgency and a strong message that encourages listeners to take action and stand up for what they believe in.
