They made a name for themselves by consistently touring over the United States. Rather than signing with a known label, they initially decided to found their own, Chunksaah Records (named after their long-time friend Timmy Chunks), but are now releasing their albums on Epitaph Records.
The Bouncing Souls are one of the best selling and longest lived of the punk bands from New Jersey, following the legacy of previously successful punk bands Adrenalin OD and the Misfits.

Her mother says you wouldn't let her use the phone
Or were you intoxicated
passed the point of knowing what was going on
better yet, don't forget, leave the keys on the t.v. set
hoping your gone for the corner bar
here we are after dark
scrounging up the dollars from my buddy's car
and
lean on sheena
she leans on me a lot
hold on, hold on, hold on to what you've got
intimidate her
how'd you make her feel?
worse than she did before
and i heard you
came back later
had the upstairs neighbors
banging on the floor
better yet, don't forget, leave the keys on the t.v. set
hoping your gone for the corner bar
here we are after dark
knocking back the makers mark
scrounging up the dollars from my buddy's car
and
lean on sheena
she leans on me a lot
hold on, hold on, hold on to what you've got
hold on to what you've got
intimidate her
Her mother said you wouldn't let her use the phone
were you intoxicated
passed the point of knowing WHAT WAS GOING ON
better yet, don't forget, leave the keys on the t.v. set (Ohhhh Ohhh Ohhh)
hoping your gone for the corner bar (Ohhhh Ohhh Ohhh)
here we are after dark (Ohhhh Ohhh Ohhh)
knocking back the makers mark (Ohhhh Ohhh Ohhh)
scrounging up the dollars from my buddy's car (Ohhhh Ohhh Ohhh)
and
lean on sheena
she leans on me a lot and
hold on, hold on, hold on to what you've got
hold on to what you've got
[x2]
HOLD ON TO WHAT YOU GOT!!!
better yet, don't forget, grab your keys off the t.v. set (Ohhhh Ohhh Ohhh)
say goodbye to the corner bar (Ohhhh Ohhh Ohhh)
not a friend till' the end (Ohhhh Ohhh Ohhh)
but she's never coming back again (Ohhhh Ohhh Ohhh)
now its on my mind and in my heart and (Ohhhh Ohhh Ohhh)
lean on sheena [x2]
lean on sheena
she leans on me a lot and
hold on, hold on, hold on to what you've got
The Bouncing Souls' song "Lean on Sheena" is a story of a tumultuous and unhealthy relationship between two people. The first two stanzas appear to be directed toward the male character in the relationship. The lyrics suggest that the man may have intimidated the woman and may have been intoxicated during their interactions. The woman's mother noted that the man wouldn't let her daughter use the phone, suggesting perhaps he was controlling, jealous, or abusive.
The chorus, "Lean on Sheena, she leans on me a lot," and the second half of the song, however, suggest that the woman may have been a problematic person in the relationship as well. As the song progresses, it becomes clear that neither character is good for the other. While the man may have intimidated the woman and been controlling, the woman may have relied excessively on the man and potentially been an enabler. It is unclear what eventually happened to the two, but the lyrics suggest that the relationship has ended and that it was a painful experience for both parties.

This band means so much to me, the band that your dad gets dewy eyed over and has 1000's of stories about, this is that band for me. I met my friends, had the best teenage years I could ever have with The Bouncing Souls as one of the bands playing the soundtrack. I still can't listen to True Believers without crying. Partly because back then I knew I'd listen to the lyrics like I do now, looking back at a youth lived perfectly how I wanted it, with people around me I love, but partly because I'm fucking glad I was lucky enough to have those years.
I've met some people along the way
Some of them split some of them stayed
Some of them walk some walk on by
I've got a few friends I'll love till I die
From all of these people I try to learn
Some of them shine some of them burn
Some of them rise some of them fall
For good or bad I've known them all

@ash7324
@@adrianozuna2149 its bittersweet to lookc back bro, it hurts those precious years are over, you're at an age where you're just about to start living the fuck out of life, for christ sake do it. Party, do dangerous shit, break the law, have sex with women or men or both. Trust me being young with your friends, those golden years of your late teens and very early 20's are going to be a blast, just make sure you put yourself out there and live the fuck out of it.
