They made a name for themselves by consistently touring over the United States. Rather than signing with a known label, they initially decided to found their own, Chunksaah Records (named after their long-time friend Timmy Chunks), but are now releasing their albums on Epitaph Records.
The Bouncing Souls are one of the best selling and longest lived of the punk bands from New Jersey, following the legacy of previously successful punk bands Adrenalin OD and the Misfits.

I picked up the phone and I gave my boys a shout
Told 'em I'd be out around nine
No particular plan, just whatever comes to mind
Frank called me up
And said there's a show tonight
Do ya wanna go tonight?
'cause I'm hanging out with Steinkopf
Whenever I'm down
I know where my friends can be found
Whenever there's a doubt
I just have to shout
He's my friend, he's my alibi
My accessory to the crime
A bond that will never die
Till the end of time
Till the end of time
Another night and we got somewhere to go
Goin' out meeting up at the punk rock show
Where the air is hot and the music is loud
My kind of place this is my kind of crowd
And we'll be here until the night is done
Loyal to my friends and sworn to fun
He's my friend, he's my alibi
My accessory to the crime
A bond that will never die
Till the end of time
Till the end of time
Till the end of time
The Bouncing Souls's "Manthem" is a song that perfectly captures the bond of friendship and the joy of spending time with your friends. The song starts with the singer feeling alone and decides to reach out to his friends to hang out without any particular plan in mind. It is evident that the singer feels comfort in the company of his friends, and being around them brings him happiness. This shows the importance of friends and having a support system in our lives, especially during difficult times.
The second verse starts with Frank, the phone call receiver, calling the singer to tell him about a show happening that night. Frank's girl is getting the night off, and he is hanging out with Steinkopf. This verse emphasizes the commitment to friendship and the memories that are made when you hang out with your friends. The chorus expresses the strength of the bond between the singer and his friends. They have each other's backs and will always be there for one another. The song concludes with the idea that their friendship will last until the end of time.
Overall, "Manthem" is a lively and upbeat song that expresses the importance of friendship and being there for one another. The song's lively tone and catchy lyrics are perfect for capturing the energy of hanging out with your friends.

It's so crazy that the first verse is exactly what we're doing on a daily basis. Meeting up at 9 at the local liquor store with no exact plan and just drink the night away with the boys while listening to some Punk. This really is our Manthem!

The chorus for this song was something I always sang to my dog. When he passed away I couldn't help but blare this song in his memory .

My dog Duke is my partner in crime. I sing this to him very often. He is a 130lb silver sable German shepherd.

Chris Abella, cherish every moment you have with Duke and treat him like you friend and your alibi good sir.
