They made a name for themselves by consistently touring over the United States. Rather than signing with a known label, they initially decided to found their own, Chunksaah Records (named after their long-time friend Timmy Chunks), but are now releasing their albums on Epitaph Records.
The Bouncing Souls are one of the best selling and longest lived of the punk bands from New Jersey, following the legacy of previously successful punk bands Adrenalin OD and the Misfits.

That's Youth
The Bouncing Souls Lyrics

We were just killing time looking for something new
Then someone came 'long with a guitar, and we just started to play
And we sang Clash songs and the songs of our lives until late into the night
That's youth, that's all, that's all! That's all, that's all!
That's youth, that's all, that's all! That's all, that's all!
It was like we'd been friends our entire lives though
And I was so in love with you, but not sure if I should say it
But then I thought, "Yeah, I'm scared and I don't know if I should,
But I'll do it anyway!"
That's youth, that's all, that's all! That's all, that's all!
That's youth, that's all, that's all! That's all, that's all!
When all you hear is that, "you can't," or "give up," or "you're a fool"
And you're so sick of all the in crowd and trying to be cool
And still you don't, still you don't know what to do
But in the end you do your own thing, and you tell 'em to get screwed!
That's youth, that's all, that's all! That's all, that's all!
That's youth, that's all, that's all! That's all, that's all!
The Bouncing Souls's song "That's Youth" is an emotional celebration of youthful experiences and emotions. The song's first verse describes a gathering of friends hanging out after skating and stumbling upon a guitar, leading to an impromptu jam session. The verse is a testament to the power of youthful spontaneity, where the simplest of events can lead to memorable experiences.
The second verse touches upon the intense feelings of adolescent attraction and the fear of expressing it. The singer channels their courage to declare their love, even though they weren't sure of the other person's feelings. This is a universal experience for many people during their teenage years, and the song captures the apprehension and excitement that come with it.
The final verse speaks to the societal pressures that young people contend with, and the frustration that comes with it. The singer's defiance against the naysayers is an example of the rebellious spirit associated with youth. The chorus's repetition of "That's youth, that's all" reaffirms that all of these experiences are part and parcel of being young and finding one's place in the world.
