Yet for some reason The Boys occupy a neglected position in relation to London's early Punk scene, probably because they weren't clothed by Sex or managed by Malcolm McLaren. Being tagged the "Punk Beatles" couldn't have helped either, and by '81 they called it quits.
Plagued by mishaps, bad timing and plain bad luck they managed to keep smiling and come up with corking, hyper-speed pop classics like "Brickfield Nights" and "Rue Morgue". In short The Boys were a gem of a band and a total inspiration to any Punk band who value tunes over noise.
There are others artists with the same name:

They are best known for their 1988 hit single "Dial My Heart". Today, they live in Gambia on the West Coast of Africa

No Money
The Boys Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The GPO wanna cut off my phone
My landlady she says I gotta go
She says I gotta leave
I’m out a work and I`m outta the dole
I’ve got no food and my room is cold
Wish I knew what the future holds
No money...
I got no money
No money...
Money’s all gone
Politicians shaking hands with the queen
Power kings with a power dream
Crawling forward on their hands and knees
For an OBE
Money men down on money street
Business men into business deals
Drive their Sunday colour limousines
Over you and me
The Boys song "No Money" is a raw and honest portrayal of a person's struggle with poverty, financial insecurity and uncertainties about the future. The opening line, "I've gone and sold everything I own", reflects the desperation and hopelessness of a person who has lost everything he had, while the following lines, "The GPO wanna cut off my phone, My landlady she says I gotta go", depict the harsh realities of debt and eviction that come with financial struggles.
The singer of the song is out of work and out of the dole, with no food and a cold room. The uncertainty and fear of the future are evident in the line "Wish I knew what the future holds, Will it always be... No money." The song highlights the glaring inequality and corruption in society, with politicians and power kings depicted as crawling forward for an OBE, while the money men down on money street continue with their business deals at the expense of people like the singer.
Overall, "No Money" by The Boys paints a picture of the devastating effects of poverty and inequality, and the urgent need for change in society.
