Yet for some reason The Boys occupy a neglected position in relation to London's early Punk scene, probably because they weren't clothed by Sex or managed by Malcolm McLaren. Being tagged the "Punk Beatles" couldn't have helped either, and by '81 they called it quits.
Plagued by mishaps, bad timing and plain bad luck they managed to keep smiling and come up with corking, hyper-speed pop classics like "Brickfield Nights" and "Rue Morgue". In short The Boys were a gem of a band and a total inspiration to any Punk band who value tunes over noise.

Sick On You
The Boys Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Condemned to live with you
It’s some kind of suicide
Some phase that I'm through
I ain’t sadistic, masochistic
You and me are through
I`m sick to death of everything you do
I’m gonna be, gonna be sick on you
I’m gonna be, gonna be sick on you
I’m gonna be, gonna be sick on you
All down your face, your dress, your legs and your shoes...
Sick on you
Give it to me babe
Give it to me babe
Give it to me babe
It’s been six weeks and that`s six weeks too long
You thought we were Romeo and Juliet
You couldn’t have been more wrong
So pack your rags in to your bags
Get back where you belong
I`m sure they miss you, it`s really quite a shame
I hear Skid Row’s just never been the same
The Boys' song Sick On You expresses a person's frustration and unhappiness living with their partner. The opening lines "You wanna know what it's like, Condemned to live with you" sets up the mood of the song as it quickly becomes clear that the person can't stand being with their partner. The lyrics "I ain't sadistic, masochistic" further reinforce this point, suggesting that it's not in their nature to enjoy hurting themselves or others. However, the person has reached their breaking point and wants out of the relationship, as evidenced by "You and me are through, I'm sick to death of everything you do." The chorus line "I'm gonna be, gonna be sick on you" is a play on words but also a clear indication of their desire to hurt their partner in this moment of anger and frustration.
Overall, the song Sick On You is a fast-paced punk rock song that encapsulates the feeling of wanting to be free from an unhappy relationship. The lyrics are straightforward and to the point, making it easy for listeners to connect with the song and feel the raw emotions expressed.

I saw them june 1977 in Utrecht in a tent. Was in their hotelroom, carried their guitars. They were great. After 30 min their concert was finished, public asked more, 30 min more same songs. They played all their songs 3 times! Great guys, one of the best punk bands!

For sure, 77punk we're more willing to acknowledge the bands that preceded them Like Beatles, kinks, stones, while after 77 punk became less concerned with melody and became more concerned with a certain type of image and guitar distortion focused on distancing itself as far from what mainstream radio would consider playing for an hour. Radio would play the Boys but never the Exploited.

The Exploited were shit, though. 😁
