The group was formed by record producer / composer, Tony Hiller, and originally featured the well-travelled vocalist, Tony Burrows. In 1970 they had a hit single with "United We Stand", which not only was a heavily played record on British radio, but also broke the American market. By the time they broke the voting record for Eurovision and sold well over one million copies of "Save Your Kisses For Me", the line up had totally changed. After Eurovision, they had a number of hits in the UK, including two more chart-toppers, but long term success proved to be elusive.
In 1992, Sandra Stevens told Eurovision Network's magazine that Brotherhood of Man had been shortlisted to sing in A Song for Europe 1983. However she said that the group changed its mind, preferring to be remembered for winning the Eurovision Song Contest as opposed to possibly losing a UK qualifying heat. However their song, "When the Kissing Stops" remained in the contest and was performed by another group, Rubic. It came sixth.
"Save Your Kisses For Me" was nominated as one of the final five finalists in the 50th anniversary Eurovision concert held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in October 2005 and was the highest placed UK song.

Dancing Queen
The Brotherhood of Man Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
See that girl, watch that scene, dig in the dancing queen
Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for the place to go
Where they play the right music, getting in the swing
You come in to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
With a bit of rock music, everything is fine
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance...
You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only
Seventeen
Dancing queen, feel the beat from the tambourine
You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, dig in the dancing queen
You're a teaser, you turn em on
Leave them burning and then you're gone
Looking out for another, anyone will do
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance...
You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only
Seventeen
Dancing queen, feel the beat from the tambourine
You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, dig in the dancing queen
The lyrics of The Brotherhood of Man's song Dancing Queen depict the story of a teenage girl enjoying her life and dancing away to the music. The song paints a picture of a youthful and carefree girl having the time of her life on a Friday night. The opening lines, "you can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life" invite the listener to join in the fun and dance along.
The lyrics illustrate the girl's quest to find the best place to dance while looking out for a potential love interest. She appears confident and determined, looking for a king to dance the night away with. The song channels the energy and excitement of youth, capturing the essence of a typical Friday night for a teenager.
In the chorus, the lyrics "you are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only seventeen" highlight the girl's youth and emphasize the sense of freedom and joy that comes with it. The song is an ode to the carefree spirit that characterizes young adulthood and celebrates the beauty of dancing and letting loose.

I am so happy for Daniel Radcliffe that his career didn't go the way of so many child superstars. He not only has multiple talents but he puts the work in and goes for it. He briefly had an alcohol problem, and he beat it young, and look at him now. He's a role model not only for keeping youthful success going but for overcoming your own demons.

Can we all agree that Daniel was absolutely snubbed by not getting a nomination for this? I'm not saying he should have won but he definitely earned a nomination here.

Daniel was fine in this, but he doesn't have the charm or presence that Robert Morse had. If your singing is mediocre, you need to have a lot of charisma to make up for it, especially since the point of the character is that he's conning his way up the corporate ladder.

@Sherry DuggarRadcliffe has basically the same kind of acting-singing voice that Robert Morse did, with that rapid vibrato. Morse didn't sing legit and this isn't an Alfred Drake kind of score. I've never seen this video before and Daniel's just grand..

White Josh in the chorus???
