The Jigga Man hand picked The Bullitts to serve as Executive Music Consultant on the genre bending âGatsbyâ movie and soundtrack. The Bullitts has mastered the art of collaboration, the life blood of modern music by working with everyone from Jay-Z to actresses Lucy Liu and Rosario Dawson as well as hip hop lyricist Jay Electronica.
2013 sees The Bullitts poised to break wide with the release of his debut album: The Highly Anticipated: 'They Die By Dawn & Other Short Stories' coming later this year.
The First Single: âThey Die By Dawnâ featuring Yasiin Bey (aka the Mighty Mos Def), Lucy Liu and Jay Electronica, blends an Ennio Morricone spaghetti western inspired hook with big beats and truly inspired rhymes to create a sound with an emotionally packed cinematic quality (the track premiered exclusively through ROLLING STONE).
The song comes hand in hand with a movie of the same name, written and directed by Jeymes himself. In his true collaborative spirit They Die By Dawn (the movie) is an amazing, shoot 'em up cowboy flick that features an all star cast, comprising of Erykah Badu, Rosario Dawson, Michael K. Williams, Giancarlo Esposito, Jesse Williams and many more.
There is always a beginning...
The world first discovered The Bullitts in 2011 via BBC1 radio DJ Zane Lowe who premiered Jeymes' first 3 singles: "Close Your Eyes" (Featuring Lucy Liu & Jay Electronica), âLandspeederâ and âSupercool.â Lowe declared all three singles as "The Hottest Records In The World". "Close Your Eyes" was named 'Song Of The Year' in 'Loud & Quiet' magazine, while the video for the song âClose Your Eyesâ re-imagined the Salvador Dali and Luis Bunuel short film Un Chien Andalou. While the short film for âSupercoolâ showcased The Bullitts as a homeless man being harassed by a cameraman filming him against his will. The clip climaxed with The Bullitts and actress Rosario Dawson bumping into each other and dancing through in the streets of Soho.
On August 6th, 2011 The Bullitts headlined the main stage at The Big Chill Festival at Eastnor Castle alongside The Chemical Brothers, and Kanye West. He was joined onstage by actor Idris Elba, actress Lucy Liu and rapper Jay Electronica.
In late 2012 The Bullitts was tapped by none other than Jay-Z to serve as Executive Music Consultant on the genre shattering Baz Luhrmann movie âThe Great Gatsby.â
2013 sees The Bullitts are poised for music and film domination. His debut album, They Die By Dawn & Other Short Stories, is scheduled for release in Summer 2013.
