I Feel Good
The Bush Lyrics

She's happy as can be, you know she said so
I'm in love with her and I feel fine
Baby says she's mine, you know
She tells me all the time, you know
She said so
I'm in love with her and I feel fine
I'm so glad that she's my little girl
She's so glad, she's telling all the world
That her baby buys her things, you know
He buys her diamond rings, you know
She said so
She's in love with me and I feel fine, mmm
Baby says she's mine, you know
She tells me all the time, you know
She said so
I'm in love with her and I feel fine
I'm so glad that she's my little girl
She's so glad, she's telling all the world
That her baby buys her things, you know
He buys her diamond rings, you know
She said so
She's in love with me and I feel fine
She's in love with me and I feel fine, mmm
The lyrics to The Bush's song, "I Feel Good", express a sense of longing and anticipation for the perfect man to come along. The singer of the song, a woman, imagines this man to be big and strong, someone who will stay with her when she tries her best to make him. She dreams of being looked at by him and eventually taking her hand in his without the need to use any words. It is suggested that she may meet him on a Sunday or maybe Monday, but even if she doesn’t, she is sure to meet him one day, and maybe it will be on a Tuesday, a day of good news.
The woman envisions the man building a little home that would be a place meant for just the two of them. She would never want to leave or roam, and nor should he. The anticipation for this man builds as the song progresses, becoming a driving force for her happiness. It is ultimately her desire for this love that is the most important thing above all else in her life.
This song, originally from the musical “Lady, Be Good!” composed by George and Ira Gershwin, has been covered by many artists over the years. However, The Bush's version of the song was the most successful, reaching number five on the UK Singles Chart in 1997. The song's success helped to establish The Bush's as more than just a one-hit wonder band.

Someday he'll come along
One day, the man I'm waiting for will arrive
The man I love
The man I am in love with
And he'll be big and strong
He will be built and masculine
And when he comes my way
When he is near me
I'll do my best to make him stay
I will try to make sure he stays with me for a long time
He'll look at me and smile
He will give me a look of adoration and happiness
I'll understand
I will comprehend his message through his smile without verbal communication
And in a little while
After a short time
He'll take my hand
He will hold my hand
And though it seems absurd
Even though it may seem unreasonable
I know we both won't say a word
We will understand each other's feelings without verbal communication
Maybe I shall meet him
Perhaps I will encounter him
Sunday, maybe Monday, maybe not
It could be on a Sunday, a Monday, or some other day, or perhaps not at all
Still I'm sure to meet him one day
Yet, I am confident that I will eventually meet the man I'm searching for
Maybe Tuesday will be my good news day
Perhaps my good fortune will come on a Tuesday
He'll build a little home
He will construct a small house
Just meant for two
Intentionally built for only two people
From which I'd never roam
I would never leave the house
Who would, would you?
Why would anyone leave such a loving home?
And so all else above
Above all else
I'm waiting for the man I love
I'm waiting for the man that I'm in love with

[Intro]
(Spoken)
Attention all staff: We have a containment breach in the eastern wing of the Facility. But I’m doing fine, thank you for asking
[Verse 1]
I was there to witness
The victim of a sickness
He wants the world to notice
That he's not worth the focus
He could make an entrance
But could not make a friend
Now he's got lots of different scratches
From trying here and then
[Pre-Chorus]
And I say liberate your sons and daughters
The bush is high, but in the hole there's water
You can keep it well and hidden
No ones perfect, but it's a living
[Chorus]
Hey ho, here he goes
Either a little to high, or a little to low
Got low self-esteem and vertigo
But he thinks he's fine and dandy
Hey ho, here he goes
Either a little to far, or a little to close
He's pretending, but everybody knows
He thinks he's fine and dandy
[Bridge]
(Spoken)
I am NOT a human atom bomb. I’m not a rapidly evolving virus. And I’m not a Shakespearean cannibal
[Verse 2]
Ring a ring of roses
Whoever gets the closest
He comes and he goes
As the war of the roses
Mother wouldn't kiss him
'Cause of his condition
Now he's stuck in a prison
For his strange disposition
[Pre-Chorus]
Liberate your sons and daughters
The bush is high, but in the hole there's water
Do as you will, it's much less work to ignore
But if it don't feel good
What are you doing it for
[Chorus]
Hey ho, here he goes
Either a little to high, or a little to low
Got low self-esteem and vertigo
But he thinks he's fine and dandy
Hey ho here he goes
Either a little to far, or a little to close
He's pretending, but everybody knows
He thinks he's fine and dandy
[Bridge 2]
(Spoken)
This damn, f*cking, sh*t
MOTHER F*CKER
F*cking MONSTER!
[Pre-Chorus]
Liberate your sons and daughters
The bush is high, but in the hole there's water
Do as you will, its much less work to ignore
But if it don't feel good
What are you doing it for
What are you doing it for
What are you doing it for
What are you doing it for
What are you doing it for
What are you doing it for
What are you doing it for
What are you doing it for
What are you doing it for
[Chorus]
Hey ho, here he goes
Either a little to high, or a little to low
Got low self-esteem and vertigo
But he thinks he's fine and dandy
Hey ho, here he goes
Either a little to far, or a little to close
