Their music bridged the gaps between the socially and spiritually conscious folk music of Bob Dylan, the studio trickery of The Beach Boys, and the sardonic rock of The Beatles. Some of their trademark songs include pop versions of Bob Dylan's Mr. Tambourine Man and Pete Seeger’s Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is a Season), and the originals I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better, and Eight Miles High. Throughout their career they helped forge such subgenres as folk rock, raga rock, psychedelic rock, jangle pop, and – on their 1968 classic Sweetheart of the Rodeo – country rock inviting Gram Parsons on rhythm guitar.
The original and most successful lineup consisted of Chris Hillman, David Crosby, Michael Clarke, Roger McGuinn and Gene Clark. After several line-up changes (with lead singer/guitarist McGuinn as the only consistent member), they broke up in 1973.
In 1991 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and several band members launched successful solo careers after leaving the group. The most successful was David Crosby who was inducted again for his work with Crosby, Stills & Nash. Other than The Beatles, the only artist with all members inducted twice are, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
Have You Seen Her Face
The Byrds Lyrics

With her eyes reflect the colors in the sky
On one familiar place
To be swept into
Whenever she's close by
Makes me wonder why
Run by, don't turn backCan't hide from the look in her eye
Must be the way she walks
A style made up to capture all she needs
No time to spend on this talk
If your luck runs dry
She might see you tonight
Everything inside
Run by, don't turn back
Can't hide from the look in her eye
Run by, don't turn back
Can't hide from the look in her eye
You'll find you're locked in her spell
All the sights and sounds
Your senses will be found
And only time will tell
How much love can be to wait so patiently
Wait and see
Run by, don't turn back
Can't hide from the look in her eye
The Byrds' song "Have You Seen Her Face" is a romantic and melodic tune from the album "Younger Than Yesterday." The lyrics speak of a woman who catches the singer's eye and draws him to her with her beauty, charm, and aura. The song begins with the line "Have you seen her face? Her eyes reflect the colors in the sky." This line is metaphorical, suggesting that the woman's eyes are captivating because they reflect elements of the natural world. The colors of the sky convey a sense of awe and wonder, implying that the singer is enchanted by the woman's beauty.
As the song progresses, the singer describes why he is drawn to this woman. He mentions the way she walks, which he describes as a "style made up to capture all she needs." This line suggests that the woman is confident and knows how to get what she wants. The singer also mentions that she doesn't waste time on idle chatter, hinting that she is a woman of action.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "Run by, don't turn back. Can't hide from that look in her eyes." This line suggests that the woman's attractiveness is so powerful that it's almost dangerous. The singer is warning himself and others to be cautious when encountering this woman, as they might get caught up in her spell and lose themselves entirely.
Overall, "Have You Seen Her Face" is a song about the intense allure of a woman who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it. The singer is sensible enough to realize that getting involved with her might be risky, but he can't help feeling drawn to her nonetheless.

The one two puch of "So You want to be a rock and roll star" and 'have you seen her face' with Hillman songwriting credits and up front on the vocals suddenly made him a major force of the Byrds out of nowhere as hinted in the albums preceding this.
