Formed in 2004, The Cab consists of members Alex DeLeon (vocals), Joey Thunder (bass guitar), Chantry Johnson (lead guitar, backing vocals), and Dave Briggs (drums, percussion). They gained popularity through the music-sharing platform MySpace, where their demos and early releases attracted a growing fanbase.
In January 2006, The Cab signed to the local label Olympus Records; however, they did not release any material during this period. After they handed a demo to Panic! at the Disco's Spencer Smith and Jon Walker at a show featuring Cobra Starship, Boys Like Girls, and Cartel. Smith helped the band to sign with Decaydance Records in May 2007.
Over the years, The Cab continued to refine their sound, blending elements of pop, rock, and R&B into their music. They released EPs like "Symphony Soldier" and "Lock Me Up," further showcasing their versatility and evolving musical style.
In an interview with All Access, Alexander DeLeon stated that the band was currently going on hiatus, as he worked as a solo artist under the name Bohnes. DeLeon hinted that there could be a potential return for The Cab in the future. In January of 2020, a new song was teased on X, accompanied with an announcement of a new album in development.

No more gas in the rig
Can't even get it started
Nothing heard, nothing said
Can't even speak about it
All my life on my head
Don't want to think about it
Yeah
It's a thief in the night
To come and grab you
It can creep up inside you
And consume you
A disease of the mind
It can control you
It's too close for comfort
Throw on your brake lights
Youre in the city of wonder
Ain't gonna play nice
Watch out, you might just go under
Better think twice
Your train of thought will be altered
So if you must falter be wise
Your mind is in disturbia
It's like the darkness is the light
Disturbia
Am I scaring you tonight
Disturbia
Ain't used to what you like
Disturbia
Disturbia
Faded pictures on the wall
It's like they talkin' to me
Disconnectin' your call
Your phone don't even ring
I gotta get out
Or figure this shit out
It's too close for comfort
It's a thief in the night
To come and grab you
It can creep up inside you
And consume you
A disease of the mind
It can control you
I feel like a monster
Throw on your brake lights
Youre in the city of wonder
Ain't gonna play nice
Watch out, you might just go under
Better think twice
Your train of thought will be altered
So if you must falter be wise
Your mind is in disturbia
It's like the darkness is the light
Disturbia
Am I scaring you tonight
Disturbia
Ain't used to what you like
Disturbia
Disturbia
Release me from this curse I'm in
Trying to maintain
But I'm struggling
You can't go, go, go
I think I'm going to oh, oh, oh
Throw on your brake lights
Youre in the city of wonder
Ain't gonna play nice
Watch out, you might just go under
Better think twice
Your train of thought will be altered
So if you must falter be wise
Your mind is in disturbia
It's like the darkness is the light
Disturbia
Am I scaring you tonight
Disturbia
Ain't used to what you like
Disturbia
Disturbia
The lyrics to The Cab's song Disturbia describe the feeling of being trapped in one's own mind and feeling like they are losing control. The opening lines paint a picture of frustration and helplessness when something as simple as starting a car seems impossible. The following lines suggest a feeling of being overwhelmed and unable to find the right words to express the chaos within, with the weight of everything in their life on their head. The chorus compares this state of mind to a disease that can take over and control one's thoughts and actions. The lines "throw on your brake lights, you're in the city of wonder" evoke a feeling of being lost and out of control, with the warning to be cautious or risk losing everything. The final plea to "release me from this curse I'm in" suggests a desperation to find a way out of this mental state.
One interpretation of the song is that it is about struggling with mental illness, specifically depression and anxiety. The lyrics suggest a feeling of being trapped and consumed by negative thoughts, unable to escape or find relief. The repeated lines "it's too close for comfort" and "better think twice" may represent a battle within oneself to resist these overwhelming thoughts and feelings. The chorus compares this mental state to a disease that can control one's mind, implying that mental illness is not simply a matter of choice or personal weakness. The references to faded pictures on the wall and disconnected phone calls may symbolize a sense of isolation and detachment from the world outside.
