Formed in 2004, The Cab consists of members Alex DeLeon (vocals), Joey Thunder (bass guitar), Chantry Johnson (lead guitar, backing vocals), and Dave Briggs (drums, percussion). They gained popularity through the music-sharing platform MySpace, where their demos and early releases attracted a growing fanbase.
In January 2006, The Cab signed to the local label Olympus Records; however, they did not release any material during this period. After they handed a demo to Panic! at the Disco's Spencer Smith and Jon Walker at a show featuring Cobra Starship, Boys Like Girls, and Cartel. Smith helped the band to sign with Decaydance Records in May 2007.
Over the years, The Cab continued to refine their sound, blending elements of pop, rock, and R&B into their music. They released EPs like "Symphony Soldier" and "Lock Me Up," further showcasing their versatility and evolving musical style.
In an interview with All Access, Alexander DeLeon stated that the band was currently going on hiatus, as he worked as a solo artist under the name Bohnes. DeLeon hinted that there could be a potential return for The Cab in the future. In January of 2020, a new song was teased on X, accompanied with an announcement of a new album in development.

It must have been moonglow that led me straight to you
I still hear you sayin', "Dear one, hold me fast"
And I keep on prayin', "Oh Lord, please let this last"
We seemed to float right through the air
Heavenly songs seemed to come from everywhere
I'll always remember, that moonglow gave me you
It must have been moonglow, way up in the blue
It must have been moonglow that led me straight to you
I still hear you sayin', "Sweet child, hold me fast"
And I keep on prayin', "Oh Lord, please let this last"
We seemed to float right through the air
Heavenly songs seemed to come from everywhere
And now when there's moonglow, way up in the blue
I'll always remember, that moonglow gave me you
The lyrics to The Cab's song "Moon" paint a picture of a magical, transcendent moment when two people first come together. The singer describes how it must have been the special ambiance of "moonglow," or the light of the moon, that brought them together. They both feel a powerful connection, as the singer hears their partner saying "hold me fast," while they themselves are praying for the moment to last. They float through the air, hearing "heavenly songs" all around them.
The song speaks to the transformative power of love and the feeling of being swept away by it. Moonglow is used as a symbol of this otherworldly feeling, and the singer's memories of that night are forever tied to the moon's light. The song captures a sense of longing to return to that moment, and a desire to hold onto the memory of it.
