Formed in 2004, The Cab consists of members Alex DeLeon (vocals), Joey Thunder (bass guitar), Chantry Johnson (lead guitar, backing vocals), and Dave Briggs (drums, percussion). They gained popularity through the music-sharing platform MySpace, where their demos and early releases attracted a growing fanbase.
In January 2006, The Cab signed to the local label Olympus Records; however, they did not release any material during this period. After they handed a demo to Panic! at the Disco's Spencer Smith and Jon Walker at a show featuring Cobra Starship, Boys Like Girls, and Cartel. Smith helped the band to sign with Decaydance Records in May 2007.
Over the years, The Cab continued to refine their sound, blending elements of pop, rock, and R&B into their music. They released EPs like "Symphony Soldier" and "Lock Me Up," further showcasing their versatility and evolving musical style.
In an interview with All Access, Alexander DeLeon stated that the band was currently going on hiatus, as he worked as a solo artist under the name Bohnes. DeLeon hinted that there could be a potential return for The Cab in the future. In January of 2020, a new song was teased on X, accompanied with an announcement of a new album in development.
Temporary Bliss
The Cab Lyrics

Quarter past two
Love in my eyes
Blinded by you
Just to get a taste of heaven
I'm on my knees
I can't help it
But I can't stand the
Pain inflicted
In the mornin'
You're not holdin' on to me
Tell me what's the point of doin' this every night
What you're givin' me
Is nothin' but a heart
It's a lullaby
Gonna kill my dreams, oh
This is the last time
Baby, make up your mind
'Cause I can't keep sleepin' in your bed
If you keep messin' with my head
Before I slip under your sheets
Can you give me somethin', please?
I can't keep touchin' you like this
If it's just temporary bliss
Just temporary bliss
We were on fire
Now we're frozen
There's no desire
Nothin' spoken
You're just playin'
I keep waitin' for your heart
(I keep waitin' for you)
I am fiendin' for the sunshine
To show our love in a good light
Give me reason
I am pleadin' to the stars (tell me)
Tell me what's the point of doin' this every night
What you're givin' me
Is nothin' but a heart
It's a lullaby
Gonna kill my dreams, oh
This is the last time
Baby, make up your mind
'Cause I can't keep sleepin' in your bed
If you keep messin' with my head
Before I slip under your sheets
Can you give me somethin', please?
I can't keep touchin' you like this
If it's just temporary bliss
Just temporary bliss
I'm your one and only, only when you're lonely
(Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na)
I'm your one and only, only when you're lonely
(Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na)
I'm your one and only, only when you're lonely
Baby, why you callin' me? (Na-na-na-na)
Not another one night
Tryna be your whole life
I don't wanna fall asleep
I'm your one and only, only when you're lonely
Baby, why you callin' me? (Na-na-na-na)
Not another one night
Tryna be your whole life (oh, oh)
I can't keep sleepin' in your bed
If you keep messin' with my head
Before I slip under your sheets
Can you give me somethin', please?
I can't keep touchin' you like this
If it's just temporary bliss
Just temporary bliss
Temporary bliss
I can't keep sleepin' in your bed
If you keep messin' with my head
I can't keep feelin' love like this
It's not worth temporary bliss
The Cab's song Temporary Bliss is about a toxic and unstable relationship in which the singer is addicted to their partner despite knowing that they are not good for them. They keep going back to their partner every night despite the pain and heartbreak they feel each morning when their partner leaves. The singer is pleading with their partner to make up their mind and stop messing with their head, as they cannot keep going through the cycle of temporary pleasure followed by long term pain. Despite their addiction to their partner, the singer realizes that their relationship is not worth the temporary bliss they feel.
The lyrics paint a picture of a relationship that is built on physical attraction and addiction, rather than love and trust. The singer is desperate for their partner's affection and attention, but they are also aware that their partner is not good for them. The song captures the emotions of someone who is caught in a cycle of pain and heartbreak, yet they cannot seem to find the strength to leave the relationship.
Overall, the song Temporary Bliss by The Cab speaks to the universal human experience of wanting someone who is bad for us, and the struggle to break free from a toxic relationship.
