Separation
The Camel Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You know we're fighting every day,
It's as if somehow we've lost our way.
When we'd first begun, yeah, we lived as one,
Now as time goes on, we move our own way.

It's just no use in going on
When all the feeling now has gone.
You know we both have tried,
Yeah, we both have lied,
Now as tears subside, we move our own way.

Separation's the only way...
Separation starts today...

Andy Ward, what a drummer. This is probably one of the best samples of his talent.

Steve loves Camel, Jethro Tull, and such, and it is quite clear his bass style is heavily influenced by prog bass lines.
Way more intricate basslines than metal generally had. And hurrah for that! :D
Maiden would have been pretty dull with simple bass lines.

@Matt MacNeil Thats right . From the first time i listened to it, it remind me of Maiden's early days!

As a huge prog/iron maiden fan I never thought of this, but it makes so much sense.
