When you shout your lies
I wonder if he'll smile, like we smiled
When we were young, much younger then
And I kiss you and I'm thinking of a thousand times
When I miss you and I need you, but you're not around
I'm wondering
Where do you go?
Where do you go?
Where do you go?
Thinking about my life alone, but it was you, it was always me and you
And I just want to blank this space, 'cause I see you and you're with him
And the smile runs from my face
As I feel you, are you with me? I can read that smile
When I miss you and I need you but you're not around
I'm wondering
Where do you go?
Where do you go?
Where do you go?
Where do you go?
Where, where do you go?
Where do you go?
Where do you go?
Where do you go?
The Cardinals' song "Go Go Baby" is a heartbreaking ballad that explores the turmoil of unrequited love. The song is about a protagonist who is deeply in love with someone who is not available. The lyrics express the pain and confusion that comes with longing for someone who is already with another.
The opening lines of the song, "I wonder if you take a breath when you shout your lies," reveal the singer's conflicting feelings. Despite their love for this person, they also see them as dishonest and untrustworthy. The chorus, "Where do you go?" is a desperate plea for answers, as the singer struggles with the pain of not knowing where their love interest is or who they are with.
The verse "Thinking about my life alone, but it was you, it was always me and you" reflects the singer's feelings of isolation, despite the fact that they were once deeply connected to this person. The line "And I just want to blank this space" expresses the desire to erase the pain and emptiness that they feel when they see their love interest with someone else.
Overall, "Go Go Baby" is a poignant exploration of love, loss, and longing. The melody and lyrics evoke a sense of yearning and emotional depth that resonates with anyone who has experienced the pain of unrequited love.
