The Chance is a Baltimore, MD based, 3-piece driven pop/rock band started in July of 2010. Their first album entitled "No Big Deal" was created and recorded in the Misty Hill (East) Recording Studio with producers Dan Book and Alexei Misoul (Hot Chelle Rae, All Time Low). Within a year they had been playing throughout the Baltimore area including such venues as the Recher Theatre and Rams Head Live.
The Chance is an art rock band from Washington, D.C. that draws on the spirits of Joy Division, Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Frank Zappa, Lou Reed, Pink Floyd, and Bauhaus.
Originally formed by Joshua Padgett and Viraj DeSilva, their self-titled debut was released on Red Stapler Records in 2004. Thanks in large part to their strong cult following, that album sold out its initial pressing. In 2006, the band released a split 7-inch vinyl EP with fellow labelmates Gist. In 2007, The Chance finalized its lineup: Joshua Padgett on guitar and vocals, Viraj DeSilva on drums, Finley Martin on bass. In 2009, The Chance released the EP "Dimensions". Over the years the band has shared the stage with the likes of Grizzly Bear, French Toast, Frog Eyes and Sybris, among others.
The Chance was an Estonian indie/shoegaze combo band.
