Setting Sun (2003 Digital Remaster
The Chemical Brothers Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You're the devil in me I brought in from the cold
You said your body was young but your mind was very old
You're coming on strong and I like the way
The visions we had have faded away
You're part of a life I've never had
I'll tell you now it's just too bad

You're coming on strong
You're showing your colour

Like a setting sun

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to The Chemical Brothers' song "Setting Sun" are about a complicated relationship between two individuals. One person is described as being the "devil in me," someone who was brought in from the cold. The other person's body is young, but their mind is very old, suggesting they have lived a rich and complicated life. Despite their differences, the two individuals are attracted to each other, and the singer likes the way the other person is coming on strong. However, the visions they once shared are now fading away, and the situation is becoming more complicated. The song ends with the line "you're showing your colour, like a setting sun," which suggests that the relationship is coming to an end.

Overall, the lyrics are open to interpretation, but they suggest a relationship that has been complicated from the start. The two individuals have different backgrounds and experiences, which is causing friction between them. However, they are still attracted to each other, and the singer likes the intensity of the other person's feelings. The final line of the song is a metaphor for the end of the relationship, which is like a setting sun.

The fact that this song's base, Tomorrow Never Knows, was recorded 30 years before this song, proves just how ahead of time the Beatles were with that song. Hell it still sounds fresh even today.

I was literaly shocked not to find even one mention about TNK of the FF Just selfish geniuses Da Poisoned Bros and Ethan.

@nazarenus9251

The Beatles were ahead of time in everything bro, not just with this song which is one more prove (and a very clear one) of that! 👍🏼🤙🏼🎼🎵🎶
