1. The Chosen Few was a sixties R&B band from Newcastle, United Kingdom. Popular for their energetic mix of R&B and powerful live performances, the band recorded two uncharacteristically dreamy pop numbers among the four tracks across their two singles for Pye Records. All of these songs were written by the band's lead guitarist, Alan Hull. In late 1965 they underwent a series of personnel changes and by 1967 the three remaining members had become Skip Bifferty. Alan Hull later wound up in Lindisfarne, the Tyneside folk/rock group who enjoyed huge commercial success.
2. The Chosen Few was also a soul group of the 1960s, not be confused with the Newcastle band listed above. The Chosen Few recorded just one album for the Maple label ASD and are known to many Northern Soul fans for their hit singles 'Birth Of A Playboy' and 'Taking All The Love I Can', taken from said album.
3. The Chosen Few was a late 1970s punk band formed in Victoria, Australia.
4. The Chosen Few was a reggae band.
5. The Chosen Few was a metal band.

Can't get enough of that funky stuff
Can't get enough of that funky stuff I'm tryin', I'm tryin'
I said, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, yeah
Get down
Hollywood life is good
Can't get enough of that funky stuff I'm tryin', I'm tryin'
Can't get enough of that funky stuff
I said, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, yeah
Hey, hey, hey
I said, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, yeah
The Chosen Few's song "Reggae Stuff" is a lively and upbeat track that celebrates the infectious rhythm and sound of reggae music. The lyrics speak to the joy and excitement that the music brings, as the singer declares their love for the "funky stuff" and their intent to keep on grooving to the sound. The opening lines "Par...ley, par...ley" are a playful and rhythmic call and response, encouraging listeners to join in the fun.
The repeated refrain "Can't get enough of that funky stuff" emphasizes the addictive and uplifting nature of reggae music, while the singer's declaration that they are "tryin', I'm tryin'" suggests the infectiousness of the beat and their difficulty in resisting its pull. The lyrics also touch on the idea of a Hollywood lifestyle, which may represent the allure of fame and fortune, but ultimately underscore the importance of staying grounded and connected to the joy of music.
Overall, "Reggae Stuff" is a celebration of the power of music to uplift and inspire, and an invitation to join in the fun and dance to the beat.
