SPARK
The City Harmonic Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Could a spark of your love light a fire in me
Just a spark warm my cold heart
It's the living that breathe
When I breathe in
Hope I breathe in
Create some meaning again
And I breathe in, peace will be there
Just a stream of love
Oh

This little light's gonna shine
With just a spark to light a fire
Just a spark

Could a spark of Your love light the whole church on fire
When we care for our neighbor
More than we care for style
When we breathe in
Hope we breathe in
Create some meaning God
When we breathe out
Peace will breathe out
Just to breathe out love

This little light's gonna shine
With just a spark light a fire
Just a spark

Just a spark could change the heart
Just a spark come change my heart
Just a spark is just a start
Light a fire in my heart

Light a fire in my heart
Light a fire in my heart
Light a fire in my heart

A fire in my heart
With just a spark

Overall Meaning

The "Spark" by The City Harmonic is a song that explores the transformative power of love and hope. The song begins by posing a question: Could a small spark of love ignite a fire in the singer's heart? He yearns for something to give his life meaning and to warm his cold heart, and he sees hope in the possibility that love could be that spark. The chorus expresses the idea that a small amount of light can shine brightly, again suggesting that a spark of love could have greater power than we might first imagine.

The second verse expands on this idea, suggesting that if this spark could ignite the whole church, it could transform the community. The singer believes that if people care more for their neighbors than they do for style, then hope, meaning, and love will once again become part of their lives. The song continues with a repetition of the chorus, each time adding a new element: the spark could change the singer's heart, it is just a start, and it could ignite a fire.

Overall, the song is a message of hope, urging us to recognize the power of small acts of love and kindness. It suggests that we don't need big, dramatic changes to make a difference in the world or in ourselves – often, it is just a spark that is needed to set things alight.

I've been struggling with asking God for answers, but this song and the light of Jesus is enough for me today!  Thanks for posting.

This song really brings out on how we should be with God

I love that speech. It works perfectly with this song and really hits home. I've studied the civil rights movement in depth, seen MLKJrs childhood home, the place where he was shot, his tomb, and the wooden horse drawn carriage his coffin was placed on. Whenever I hear this speech I am moved deeply. Great job.
