1. The Clarks are an American rock band from the Pittsburgh area. Over the course of twenty years they have produced a total of 12 studio, live, and solo releases. Primarily being a regional band, a major highlight for the group and their fans was a musical appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. On June 21, 2005, they released their first "Best Of" compilation, Between Now and Then. Band members: Scott Blasey (lead vocals, guitar), Rob James (Guitar, vocals), Greg Joseph (bass, mandolin, vocals), Dave Minarik (drums).
2. The Clarks are also a long-standing beat/rock band from The Hague, The Netherlands. They play cover versions and perform as a session and backing band. In recent years a large Dutch audience got to know them as the backing band for the 'Pioniers van de Nederpop' / 'Golden Years Of Dutch Pop Music' touring caravan. During these live shows they backed front men of Dutch beat groups from the 1960s and also performed a few tributes to Dutch legends such as Q65, Shocking Blue, Sandy Coast and The Hunters.

I tied an old glass heart to a ring
But she put it on a shelf
And I found it didn't help anything
I gave my love all the time
I tied a worn out dress to a rhyme
But she left it at the door
And I won't be making love or taking love
Or faking it no more
And I won't be breaking love forsaking love
Or taking it no more
I gave my love every day
I took a dead end road and made a way
But she said it wouldn't work
And I found it in reverse anyway
And I won't be making love or taking love
Or faking it no more
And I won't be breaking love forsaking love
Or taking it no more
And I won't be knocking on love's door anymore
Someday I'm gonna turn it around I know I know
I gave my love everything
I took a tired song and made it sing
But she put it on a shelf
And I found it didn't help anything
And I won't be making love or taking love
Or faking it no more
And I won't be breaking love forsaking love
Or wasting it no more
And I won't be making love or taking love
Or shaking it no more
And I won't be aching love for taking love from me
Anymore
The song "Anymore" by The Clarks talks about the failed attempts of a man to love a woman who did not reciprocate his love. He gave her everything he had, including his time, effort, and attention, but she did not appreciate it. The lyrics describe his various attempts to win her over, such as tying an old glass heart to a ring and a worn-out dress to a rhyme. Despite his efforts, she rejected him and left him feeling empty and betrayed.
The song is an expression of heartbreak and frustration that many people can relate to. It speaks to the pain of investing so much of our hearts and souls into someone who does not reciprocate our feelings. The lyrics also suggest that the man has decided to move on from this unrequited love and will no longer pretend to be in a relationship or waste his time trying to be with someone who does not love him back.
"Anymore" is a powerful song that reflects the true essence of unrequited love. It shows that despite our best efforts, sometimes love is just not enough. The man in the song gave everything he had to offer, but it was not enough to make the woman love him back. This song captures the feeling of losing someone you love and the realization that it is time to move on.
