While touring in support of their full-length album Albatross, the band created the Acoustic EP: Seattle Sessions, which was simply a compilation of songs they created while on the road.
Their next album, 'The Silver Cord', was released on July 22, 2008. With the album being based on the realities of life and death, it signals a move into an alternative genre for TCC. Exactly 5805 copies of 'The Silver Cord' were sold in the first week. 5805 is a significant number because it is a song title on the album and it is the address of the house where the band formed and began to break out.
In 2010, 'Vagabonds' was released.
Different Now

You were like a ray of sunlight penetrating my apartment
As we walked down by the water I remember what you said
You said, "We had so much in common." You didn't see it coming
Oh I was as surprised to find the love inside your eyes
As you were, to see mine
And our friends all laughed and we were warned
Like it always does, like it always does
Love of mine, Oh my, how we have grown
We're different now
Don't ever want to go back to being alone
It's different now
And I wouldn't change a thing
I recall the times we spent down by the coffee shop
We would fight and you would cry, because in those days I lied a lot
Tried to protect you from the truth, I had to learn that never worked
I couldn't anything from you, couldn't bare to see it hurt you
Oh I was so surprised to find forgiveness in your eyes
Undeserved. But love is blind
So we shared our hearts as we drove home
It was the calm before the storm, that comes
Like it always does
Love of mine, Oh my, how we have grown
We're different now
Don't ever want to go back to being alone
It's different now
And I wouldn't change a thing
After all the mistakes
Different now
It seems our love never brakes
Different now
And I wouldn't change a thing
Love of mine, Oh my, how we have grown
We're different now
Don't ever want to go back to being alone
It's different now
And I wouldn't change, I wouldn't change a thing
The sunset through the blinds reminds me of the time we met
You were like a ray of sunlight penetrating my apartment
The song "Different Now" by The Classic Crime is a reflection on the growth and evolution of a romantic relationship. The opening lines of the song set the scene for a nostalgic memory: "The sunset through the blinds reminds me of the time we met / You were like a ray of sunlight penetrating my apartment." The singer then remembers a conversation they had with their partner, where they talked about sharing common interests and realizing they were meant to be together. However, the lyrics also suggest that the couple faced challenges and storms throughout their relationship: "Our friends all laughed and we were warned / It was the calm before the storm, that comes / Like it always does, like it always does."
The chorus of the song serves as a reminder of how far the couple has come, even after weathering difficult times: "Love of mine, Oh my, how we have grown / We're different now / Don't ever want to go back to being alone / It's different now / And I wouldn't change a thing." The lyrics suggest that the couple has learned from their mistakes and grown stronger as a result. The repeated phrase "different now" represents the positive changes and growth that have occurred in the relationship, and the singer is grateful for how things have turned out.
