While touring in support of their full-length album Albatross, the band created the Acoustic EP: Seattle Sessions, which was simply a compilation of songs they created while on the road.
Their next album, 'The Silver Cord', was released on July 22, 2008. With the album being based on the realities of life and death, it signals a move into an alternative genre for TCC. Exactly 5805 copies of 'The Silver Cord' were sold in the first week. 5805 is a significant number because it is a song title on the album and it is the address of the house where the band formed and began to break out.
In 2010, 'Vagabonds' was released.
You and Me Both
The Classic Crime Lyrics

Standing like a sentry to the left of me
It's guarding adventure that certain's to be
Life threatening, life threatening
I need a tragedy to wake me
From perpetual dreaming
The proverbial "pinch me"
I'm so sick of sleeping
And you wonder why my eyes don't leave my phone
(Oh whoa oh oh)
It's no wonder that you feel like you're alone, alone
I think I need a new story
One where I take on the world
The one I'm living is boring
It's killing you and me both
The car crash in front of me
Pulls me back from deep and desperate fantasy
Snaps me wide awake to see the horrible scene
What's happening?
What's happening?
Is this the tragedy I asked for?
Is this blood on my hands a consequence of my own war?
I'm so sick of sleeping
I'm so sick of needing more
And you wonder why my eyes don't leave my phone
(Oh whoa oh oh)
It's no wonder that you feel like you're alone, alone
I think I need a new story
One where I take on the world
The one I'm living is boring
It's killing you and me both
And you watch every time
As I give myself to death and neglect life
And I blindly desert the plot line you deserve
And you wonder why my eyes don't leave my phone
(Oh whoa oh oh oh)
It's no wonder that you feel like you're alone, alone
I think I need a new story
One where I take on the world
The one I'm living is boring
It's killing you and me both
It's killing you and me both
It's killing you and me both!
The song, "You and Me Both", by The Classic Crime, is a reflection on the mundane nature of everyday life and the desire for excitement and adventure. The lyrics describe the temptation of danger represented by the guardrail standing next to the singer of the song, representing the call of adventure and the risks involved. The singer longs for a tragedy to wake him up from his perpetual state of dreaming, to give him a sense of reality that seems to be lacking in his life. The desire for an event or tragedy that will shake things up is explored, as well as the consequences of seeking out such an event. The song also addresses the issue of neglecting those around you, those you love, in the pursuit of personal excitement.
The chorus reveals the main message of the song, that the singer wants a new story, one where he takes on the world, instead of living a boring, mundane life. He is aware that this life is killing him and the ones he loves, represented by the repeated line, "It's killing you and me both".
Overall, the song explores the idea that life can be mundane and lack excitement, and the desire to seek out adventure and tragedy can come with consequences. It is a reflection on the importance of appreciating the people around us and living in the moment, rather than constantly chasing the next exciting thing.

Nobody wonders why my ears haven't left this song. This is just absolutely incredible. TCC evolves every album. Something always changes...but yet it stays the same. That's true music right there. I wish I could have afforded to back this on kickstarter. Thank you for everyone who did so we could hear this amazing music!!!!!
@naviboii7391
Can't stop listening to this music. Some of the greatest stuff I've ever heard. 13/10.
@msky3011
This is real music. the 90's made some great Christians songs that the devil with corporations have utterly destroyed in 2020. We have to stand up and get the gospel out :)
@lmaekelley
I am beyond excited for this new CD. Their old music was awesome--but this new song is beyond amazing.
@Jaraco321
These guys need a Grammy. They could also write a song for a movie and win an Oscar. They'd probably even be able to win an AVN award. Who knows? What a bunch of studly musicians these guys are.
@Emill1214
I have always loved The Classic Crime, and I hope this album will catch on to listeners new and old. I feel the band is not as recognized as they should be. The sound and lyrics are complementary to each other. It sounds like pure music that people need to hear. The Classic Crime has stayed true to making music and putting meaning into it
@DiJohnny18
I wish the hit counter wouldn't always get stuck at 302! I know I've listened to this more than that!! I wish you the best success with your new album, and renewed interest in your old albums. You guys are one of the best!
@walkingthegibbon
