So pale but I am not the guide on my own way to die
I can not satisfy
I don't wanna lose or find
Nothing's bad but nothing's fine
Sun is coming up for me
For more I'll meet with you
Laugh and cry
And sun will be gone with you
Too fast on the road it's not the right time
So clear but I gotto go who gives a fuck all warning signs
I can not satisfy
I don't wanna lose or find
Nothing's bad but nothing's fine
Sun is coming up for me
For more I'll meet with you
I will lose and I will find
Laugh and cry with you
Sun is coming up
Sun is coming up
I will lose and I will find
Laugh and cry
And sun will be gone with you...
The song Empty by The Climb appears to be a reflection on life, specifically the singer's own life. The first stanza suggests that the singer feels like they are moving too quickly and are uncertain of their own direction. The line "pale but I am not the guide on my own way to die" suggests that the singer feels powerless to control their own fate. They express a desire to neither lose nor find anything, indicating a sense of ambivalence towards life. The entire stanza has a feeling of disorientation and confusion, with the singer struggling to make sense of their own existence.
The second stanza begins with a repetition of the first line, reinforcing the idea that the singer is traveling too fast and that it's not the right time. However, this time the singer seems more determined to keep going despite warning signs. They still express a sense of dissatisfaction and ambivalence, saying that "nothing's bad but nothing's fine." The chorus comes in and brings a glimmer of hope, with the sun coming up and the singer promising to meet with someone. They acknowledge that they will both lose and find things together, suggesting a sense of companionship and shared experience. But even this hopeful moment is tinged with sadness, as the sun is destined to set and leave the singer alone once again.
