Some time ago in the city run solely on steam
In the past, there was a city that entirely relied on steam power.

The power plant workers would rise and stick to routine
The employees in the power plant had a specific schedule they would follow.

Breakin' their backs 'til their work shirts were dirty and brown
The workers would work extremely hard, putting physical strain on their bodies, resulting in dirty clothes.

As year after year, they'd work for the good of the town
The employees would continue to work tirelessly for the benefit of the community over time.

As parts would get old, these men would make the repairs
When equipment became outdated or broken, the workers would work on fixing them.

Changing out axles and belts with meticulous care
The workers took exceptionally good care when replacing parts.

Working their hands to the bone and slaving away
The employees worked strenuously with extreme focus and determination.

They'd press on with diligence and as they strained you could hear them say,
Despite the difficulties, the workers would continue to push through, and you could hear them murmuring words of encouragement.

"With our blood, sweat, and tears
We will use all of our energy and effort

And the grinding of gears
To maintain the mechanical operation of the city.

We shall slave to keep our beautiful city alive!"
The workers' hard work and dedication keep the city running efficiently and successfully.

One afternoon Frederick Worthington clocked into work
One day, Frederick Worthington came into work.

He went to his station not knowing the danger that lurked
He was unaware of the risks that would potentially accompany his work that day.

He pulled on the lever to start up the massive machine
He began operating the significant piece of equipment by moving the lever.

But deep in the workings was something he had not foreseen
Frederick did not anticipate the issue hidden within the equipment.

The pistons were pumping as pressure began to accrue
The machinery was operating normally with the pistons pumping, and pressure began to increase.

And suddenly one of the tanks had to give, and it blew
One of the tanks reached its limit and burst unexpectedly.

Frederick was knocked back into an assortment of gears
Due to the tank bursting, Frederick was thrown backward into a range of cogs/machinery.

And there in an instant he came to an end with his GREATEST FEAR!"
Unfortunately, in that split second, Frederick's greatest fear came to fruition, resulting in his end.

This disaster happened in front of our terrified eyes
The tragic event occurred before everyone's frightened gaze.

In his premature years
Frederick's death was untimely and happened while he was still young.

Frederick met his unfortunate, wholly untimely demise
As a result of the unforeseen danger within the industrial machine, Frederick died tragically and far too soon for everyone.

So with blood, sweat, and tears
Despite the tragedy, workers must continue to put in hard work and dedication with all their might.

We must face what we fear
Even though the nature of the work is dangerous, the employees need to keep on handling it.

And although it's tragic, and everyone's sad that he's gone
The consequences of the horrible event are devastating, and everyone is mourning.

We return to our gears
Despite the loss of Frederick, the workers must continue operating the machinery and repairing it.

This city still needs us to work, so we must carry on
The community relies on the workers and their efforts to keep the city operational, and they must continue working.

"With our blood, sweat, and tears
The workers will keep putting in extreme effort

And the grinding of gears
So the city can continue operating smoothly.

We shall slave to keep our beautiful city alive!"
The employees are dedicated to their work and ensuring the city keeps functioning smoothly, and will keep putting in hard work with that goal in mind.
