In the Morning
The Coral Lyrics

Shut the bedroom window in the morning
Go to the shop, make plans to be leaving
In the morning
Thought I was sleeping, it was just a dream
An ally cat chewing on dead leaves
In the morning

Out of the dark and into the light
When the morning comes, I will be alright
When I leave I try not to wake her
Tea and a toast to yesterday's capers
In the morning

She wrote my name on a red telephone box
When I got there she'd already rubbed it off
In the morning

Out of the dark and into the light
When the morning comes, I will be alright

And all this time, I've watched it change
But it's still the same

In the morning
In the morning
In the morning
In the morning

@sabbracadabra No, you definitely don't. I'm talking spotify algorithm weekly songs with a hundred thousand listens at most. Each good song is from someone I've never heard of, and nobody has heard of. There are millions of artists in thousands of genres, there is no magic that switched off the ability for any of it to sound good.

There's also good music that has become popular, it's hard to say it's amateurish when the production quality is so much better than any old classic, which makes the classics sound homemade. There are old sounding, well known artists that make good songs that the elderly might like - and these may have even been on the radio -

Broken Bells - Good Luck
Augustines - Chape Song
Kite - Jonny Boy
White Lies - As I Try Not To Fall Apart
Lord Huron, Tame Impala, The National (might be considered modern), and definitely don't sound amateurish

Less popular random ones -

Nation of Language - I've Thought About Chicago
Houses - Fast Talk
St Lucia - The Winds of Change
SKATERS - Miss Teen Massachusetts

Less known pop-punk -

Gold Route - Happier
KennyHoopla - estella
Driveways - Skeptic

Electronic -

Blue Sky Black Death - Sky With Hand
Soulero - We Use to Talk for Hours
DROELOE - Only Be Me
Sombear - 2002

I visited britain a number of years ago and heard this on the radio. Great song. Can't understand why this isn't more popular. whatever.

@Goldy Twatus You only like all that shit because you don't know great music from before music died. You have no frame of reference. And it makes no sense, why must you listen to new things? To be hip? To relate to girls? If you care about music then you shouldn't care how old it is. And in that case there are thousands of bands from a different time that are in a totally different league to all that amateur kid shit you listed.

@Goldy Twatus I haven't listened to radio for over 20 years. I know all the music you are finding, I've heard it all. It is varied, but it's so amateurish compared to the world before music was killed.

@sabbracadabra There's more music being made in more genres than ever, you just listen to the radio. Music now is better than ever if you know how to look

Edward Chapman

It's used, or was, to good effect, in incidental music, always to uplifting effect. One of several great songs by The Coral....
