In 1989, Wright was replaced by Margo Urban and more hits followed. Their sophomore album "We Can't Go Wrong" includes the lead single "My Heart Skips a Beat" climbed to #38 on the Billboard Hot 100. The ballad title track "We Can't Go Wrong" became their first Top 10 hit, peaking at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100.
By 1992 the trio had more lineup chages: Jackson was the only remaining original member. New members were Evelyn Escalera and Michelle Valentine. Preceeding the released of The Cover Girls third album, "Here It Is", they scored their second Top 10 hit followed ("Wishing On A Star" #9 Pop & #7 Dance) and "Thank You" (#75 Pop). The albums' other singles are "Don't Stop Now" (#63 Pop & #8 Dance) and by "Funk Boutique" (#55 Pop & #8 Dance) and "If You Want My Love (Here It Is)" (#8 Dance). "Don't Stop Now" is noted as the first song to feature the lead vocals of Evelyn Escalera.
With the release of The Cover Girls' fourth album "Satisfy" in 1996, the lead vocal duties were performed by Michelle Valentine. The line up included members Damie, Gayle and Shelia for this album only. The singles from this album are "I Need Your Lovin'" and "I Am Woman." The group went on hiatus after the release of "Satisfy." In early 2012, Sabater, Jackson and Urban reunited and now tour as The Original Cover Girls. Wright is expected to rejoin the line-up as well in 2014. Until 2012, Sabater toured singing Cover Girls songs under the name 'Angel (The Original Cover Girl)'. Sabater has had solo success on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart as Angel Clivillés.

Inside, outside
Inside and out
When I first met you, boy
I would not give you a play
Your reputation as a playboy scared me away
You captured me with all your charms
And you insisted that
The place for me was in your arms
But now things have changed
But now things have changed
You're acting strange
Got me so confused
I just can't take it anymore
You got me inside, outside
Spinning all around
Every time I look for you
You're nowhere to be found
Inside, outside
Hung up over you
Filled up with emotions
And I don't know what to do
Inside, outside
Spinning all around
Feeling like a puppet
Oh, I feel it like a clown
Inside, outside
Hung up over you
Tell me if you want my love
Or tell me if we're through
When we first started out
My friends said it would not last
They told me all about the hearts
You broke in the past
But I refused to listen
To a word that they'd say
But ever since
We've been together every night and day
But now things have changed
But now things have changed
You're acting strange
Got me so confused
I just can't take it anymore
You got me inside, outside
Spinning all around
Every time I look for you
You're nowhere to be found
You got me inside, outside
Spinning all around
Every time I look for you
You're nowhere to be found
You got me inside, outside
Spinning all around
Every time I look for you
You're nowhere to be found
You got me inside, outside
Spinning all around
Every time I look for you
You're nowhere to be found
The lyrics of The Cover Girls song "Inside Outside" tell the story of a woman who, against her better judgement, falls for a playboy who pursues her until he finally wins her over. However, as time goes on, the relationship becomes more complicated and the man begins to act strangely and unpredictably. This leaves the woman feeling confused, emotional, and uncertain about the future of their relationship.
The repeated refrain of "inside, outside" reflects the internal turmoil and confusion that the woman feels, constantly spinning and searching for answers. The lyrics also touch on themes of perseverance, as the man initially persists in pursuing the woman despite her hesitations, but now it is the woman who is persevering in the relationship, trying to make sense of the man's behavior and decide whether to continue with him.
Overall, the meaning of the song is one of uncertainty and emotional rollercoasters that come with relationships, but also hints at the strength needed from both partners to weather the ups and downs.
