It's So Easy
The Crickets Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's so easy to fall in love
It's so easy to fall in love

People tell me love's for fools
So, here I go, breaking all the rules
It seems so easy (seems so easy, seems so easy)
Oh so doggone easy (doggone easy, doggone easy)
It seems so easy (seems so easy, seems so easy, seems so easy)
Where you're concerned, my heart has learned

It's so easy to fall in love
It's so easy to fall in love

(It's so easy to fall in love)
(It's so easy to fall in love)

Look into your heart and see,
What your love book has set apart for me
It seems so easy (seems so easy, seems so easy)
Oh so doggone easy (doggone easy, doggone easy)
It seems so easy (seems so easy, seems so easy, seems so easy)
Where you're concerned, my heart has learned

It's so easy to fall in love
It's so easy to fall in love

Well it's so easy (it's so easy, it's so easy)
So doggone easy (doggone easy, doggone easy)
It seems so easy (seems so easy, seems so easy, seems so easy)
Well where you're concerned, my heart has learned

It's so easy to fall in love
It's so easy to fall in love

Absolutely transcendent stuff!
Hey...I didn't realize on the original release the title is punctuated with an exclamation mark!
Even that brings poignancy to the record.
So very good.

@TheDejael

My friend, famous record producer Ray Ruff (1938-2005) from Amarillo, Texas, was a friend of Buddy Holly from 1956 to 1959. Ray launched a rock band called The Checkmates in 1959 and began to record songs in Buddy Holly's sound and vocal style for five years. Later, Ray founded his own record label company, Oak Records, in 1970. After Ray passed away, I acquired the rights to his record company and some of his company's copyrighted music and publishing. We are still doing business now as Oak Records.

@TheDejael

I used to have all of Buddy and The Crickets 45 RPM singles. I still have his first greatest hits album on Decca.

I have all the Coral Records albums. Brunswick was a branch of Coral Records. Buddy and the Crickets recorded on both plus Decca . The best collection of Buddy Holly songs is MCA's The Complete Buddy Holly. It has every record Buddy Holly ever sang on plus a lot more. It was produced by Paul McCartney.

@TheDejael

@@wesleycook7687 Both Coral and Brunswick were sub-labels of the London-Decca Records Group of New York City and London, England. In 1959, Decca formed a partnership with MCA Records at Universal City, California and MCA owned Decca for several years afterward.
Buddy signed with Coral but that also included The Crickets and they all co-signed with Decca. Thus Decca had the recording rights to all their music for releases, and Norman Petty co-owned publishing rights with Buddy Holly until Buddy sued Petty in late 1958, and it was discovered that Norman Petty, of NorVaJak Productions in Clovis, New Mexico was stealing royalties from Buddy Holly. Decca took over when Buddy died, and their attorneys successfully got publishing away from Petty. Buddy had planned to start up his own record and publishing company when he returned from the Winter Tour '59 when he sadly died in that horrible airplane crash.
Paul McCartney acquired publishing rights to Buddy Holly's music catalog in the 1980s.

@NMagChiTown

Yeah the same goofs that passed on The Beatles too... They evidently didn't like insects over there at Decca Lol But boy did George Harrison help save their asses by bouncing back and telling them to sign The Rolling Stones.
