Love's Made A Fool Of You
The Crickets Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Love can make a fool of you
You do anything it wants you to
Love can make you feel so good when it goes like you think it should
Or it can make you cry at night when your baby donĆ¢??t treat you right

When youĆ¢??re feeling sad and blue
You know loveĆ¢??s made a fool of you
You know love makes fools of men
But you donĆ¢??t care, youĆ¢??re gonna try again

Time goes by, itĆ¢??s a-passinĆ¢?? fast you think true love has come at last
But by and by youĆ¢??re gonna find crazy love has made you blind

When youĆ¢??re feeling sad and blue
You know loveĆ¢??s made a fool of you

2ND BEST VERSION...NUMBER ONE IS "BOBBY FULLER FOUR"šŸ„°

1960sRICH

Yes Bobby Fuller Four had the #1 Hit but this was The Original Version by The Crickets

Mickey Mouse

Wash your ears out ... Original by Buddy Holly is still the best version.

Adrina The Great

Bobby was just a cover artist, he also covered the other crickets song " I fought the law"

Peter Emmert - the 1956 Grey Goose

I'm sure that Norman Petty did the original with Buddy. I'm also surprised that he let this one be released with all the tributes flowing (especially the obvious Tommy Dee/Carol Kaye tribute) and the Buddy sound-alike in this particular track.

Darryl C Preston

I don't think that Norman Petty ever let sentiment stand between himself and a buck. That said; I've always thought that Earl Sinks was excellent on this recording.

MrRossHartman

Thanks for the correct story on this song. This hit version by The Crickets does NOT have Buddy Holly vocals...but there is a Buddy Holly version out there just to confuse everybody!

Chip Power

After death of Buddy Holly, someone's the next lead singer.

Gardist Kalle

This was recorded while Buddy Holly was still alive.
