Liar
The Cross Lyrics
Hey
When my lady walks into the room
The lights come on to her sweet perfume
I didn't know the devils by her side
There I stood I had nothing to hide
My love could teach the blind to see
My love's the wildest mystery
My love said she'd be the one
Now I know
You're a liar
I wasn't watching for the danger signs
And I never read between the lines
She says c'mon boy can you do your thang
So I turned around still wondering
When my love dances she makes me cry
My love dances with me tonight
My love said she's be the one
But now I know
Baby you're a liar
Oh you're a liar
A liar
But I'm still burning with desire
With the look of a panther
I got lost in the jungle
No I can't help myself again
I can't help myself
Baby you're a liar
My love could teach the blind to see
My love's the wildest mystery
My love said she'd be the one
Now I know
Baby you're a liar
Oh yeah you're a liar
A liar
I'm burning with desire
Oh baby you're a liar
Oh baby you're a liar (you're a liar)
Oh baby you're a liar (you've bin known to veer from the truth)
Lies
You're a liar
You're telling me lies
Baby you're a liar
Lies
I'm burning with desire
Lies
Baby you're a liar

The first album, 'Shove it' (1988), was more-or-less a solo album for Taylor - he wrote all the songs and played most of the instruments. The band were formed initially for the tour which followed the release of this album.
However, the newly formed band were allowed a much greater input into the other two recordings, 1990's 'Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know' and 'Blue Rock' (1991). Unfortunately the release of 'Blue Rock' was overshadowed by the death of Freddie Mercury in November 1991 and, following a few weeks of poor sales, the album was pulled from record stores. It was only ever released in Germany. Due to this limited release, 'Blue Rock' is now highly collectable, with copies regularly selling for over £50 on eBay. Of the three albums, 'Blue Rock' is the most Queen-like.

That's quite a good band, but I'm not pretty sure whether I'd feel very comfortable by being the drummer in Roger Taylor's band o_o
Sloppylicious
@Sammifossil The contrast is a good point. The input by the others truly enhanced it all. It definately wasn't just "Roger Taylor and band". So bad it didn't last long. I wish 2/4Queen would have concidered going solo or create a new band together, rather than this Queen+ shit ongoing for years now.
Sammifossil
@Sloppylicious I don't mind Shove It actually, after all it was Cowboys and Indians that got me into the Cross more than half a decade ago, but I see what you mean when you say it's dated, bc compared to the other two is a sheer contrast.
My Queen top three change so often, but right now they are Innuendo, The Miracle, and Queen 1.
Sloppylicious
@Sammifossil I think Shove It didn't age well. To me it just feels somehow arbitrary. But I guess it has to do with the "80s sound". It can be really decent or pure gold.
The thing with Queen is that any album does have at least one song I truly hate what downgrades the album as such. I guess I like The Miracle best followed by News of the World and The Works.
Sammifossil
@Sloppylicious MAD:BAD: is my fav cross album, but all 3 are somewhere on my list of top albums of all time. I think innuendo is the only queen one on that list (no disrespect to queen ofc)
Sloppylicious
@Fabian Sanson Other people are. If Freddie was there, there'd be no Lambert.
Mad, Bad, and Dangerous to Know. It is surely in my top 5 of any Queen (+related) albums.
