Look in My Eyes
The Crystals Lyrics

Look in my eyes and tell me you love, love me
Tell me you want, want me
Or darling, I'll be gone, gone
Look in my eyes and tell me that you're my one heartbeat
And that our love will always be
Or darling, I'll be gone, gone

(over backing oooo's)

You said more time, so open your heart, mine
Now speak to me do you want me
I don't ask much for your touch
Help and love me, please
Or darling, set me free
(repeat verse 1)

The Chantels recorded this song 1958 or 59, give it a listen, absolutely heavenly.

It was actually 1961. The new lead singer was Annette Smith (no relation to original lead Arlene Smith - who had sung lead on "Maybe" & "He's Gone" but left the group in 1959 to embark on a solo career).

Tony Russi

Dee Dee Kennibrew on lead. The Crystals were always a GREAT LIVE act.

John Clemente

Timeline check! "Look In My Eyes" -- The Chantels (7/61); The Crystals (released on the LP "The Crystals Sing The Greatest Hits Part 1, 1963; may have been recorded earlier); The Three Degrees (12/65).

William Lopez

I didn't know this song came out in 1963?

James Powell

Great cover of the Chantel"s hit, but,it's a beat too slow.

I like this song, but I think the Three Degrees version is better, though very similar. It's just that I think the Three Degrees are better vocalists.

The Explore Master

Bob Olivia
