Hailing from the South Bay… Read Full Bio ↴There are three bands named The Darlings.
Hailing from the South Bay, Californian punk rockers; The Darlings have been making quite a name for themselves. With their self-titled, self produced album available from Spydersurf. The Darlings have been grabbing everyoneโs attention. They have toured besides punk rock legends like Bad Religion, Pennywise and Guttermouth. Their dรฉbut album The New Escape was released late 2010.
The Darlings, a power-pop quartet from Bangkok were born in 2003 after it became clear to the band's members that drinking whiskey and listening to records wasn't enough.
Distorted fuzz and incompetence. The Pop-Punk/Nerd-Rock do-wop power balladeers otherwise known as The Darlings donโt leave much room for objectivity: their music โ best described as โsugar-snaps marinated in a can-o-whoopassโ โ provides a purely visceral buzz, kinda like downing half-rack of Mountain Dew while inner-tubing, pellet gun in hand. Their live shows can best be described as โfour demure boys getting metalheads and knee-sock clad P-rock Lolitas to chime along to the โoh-oh-oh-whao-wo-ohโ choruses of catchy, mid-tempo anthems (โFarawayโ, โWorseโ), and tear it up for the hook-filled shredders (โWhoโs The Assholeโ, their newest and, possibly, best song).โ Comparisons to Weezer abound โ itโs probably the slow song/fast song switch off, the fuzzy wall-of-guitar and root-noted bass sound, or, maybe, lead-singer Jeremyโs thick-rimmed specs. But The Darlings are less a self-conscious Power Pop formula band, and more of a straight-from-the-heart stab at the mantle of primal, four-chord rock โnโ roll. - Nak Ling / The Eastbound Downers

The Darlings from London are now known as Allo, Darlin' (due to threats of legal action), a moniker for the songwriter Elizabeth Darling. Under the name The Darlings, they released a 3 track single on WeePOP! Records in November 2007, which sold out in a matter of weeks. The Photo EP included "Emily", a "Jolene" for our times, and a bare cover of AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long". Music blog Foggy Ruins Of Time says, "The Darlings Photo EP will soothe you, make you laugh, smile and shake you until youโre thoroughly hooked."
Let's Roll
The Darlings Lyrics

Straighter head nothing else
Day to day 'til it's gone
This means everything
When your time did not comes
Will you so regret
And with friends like this, memories to hold on the world
Creating new ones to look out and smile
Will you stand or will you fall?
Let's roll! Let's roll!
Never give them control!
They've got their money but we've got our soul!
Let's roll! Let's roll!
Never give them control!
They've got their money but we've got our soul!
Peace to the hard times and the scars that remain
Sometimes I'll never learn
Makes us who we are
When your time did not comes
Never change what is worth
And it just never settles where fire always burns
Such for answers leave no stones unturned
Like it's been your loud voices being pushed by the weaks and
We must stand or we'll fall
Let's roll! Let's roll!
Never give them control!
They've got their money but we've got our soul!
Let's roll! Let's roll!
Never give them control!
They've got their money but we've got our soul!
Woh... Woh... Woh
Trapped inside of ourselves are our dreams
Woh... Woh... Woh
Trapped inside of ourselves are our dreams
Let's roll! Let's roll!
Never give them control!
They've got their money but we've got our soul!
Let's roll! Let's roll!
Never give them control!
They've got their money but we've got our...
Woh... Woh... Woh
Trapped inside of ourselves are our dreams
Woh... Woh... Woh
Trapped inside of ourselves are our dreams
Woh... Woh... Woh
Trapped inside of ourselves are our dreams

Trapped inside of ourselves are our dreams
The Darlings' "Let's Roll" is a powerful anthem about living life on your own terms and not giving in to the pressures and control of others. The first stanza emphasizes the importance of living your life to the fullest, without regrets, because time is fleeting. The lyrics suggest that the memories you make with loved ones are all that matter in the end. The second stanza speaks to the resilience of the human spirit and the need to persevere through hard times. The song urges the listener to stand up for what they believe in, even if it means going against the norm or standing up to those who try to control them. The repeated refrain of "Let's roll! Let's roll!" serves as a rallying cry for the listener to take action and live their life to the fullest.
Overall, "Let's Roll" seems to be a message of empowerment and encouragement. It suggests that we should each be the masters of our own fate and not let others dictate our path in life. The song encourages us to be brave and to stand up for what we believe in, even when it feels like the rest of the world is against us.

Thanks to the Darlings and Lee Camp who brought me here. As a 72 year old "Working Class Hero" ( See J. Lennon) who has seen his fair share of pain, and all his dreams fall by the wayside This speaks to my soul Peace and Love and Stay Safe.

Took me awhile, and a lot of searching that brought up other songs with similar lyrics, but then noticed that there is a (very) brief credit that appears in RT's video, so I finally found it!
Great theme song for Lee's show.
