Hailing from the South Bay… Read Full Bio ↴There are three bands named The Darlings.
Hailing from the South Bay, Californian punk rockers; The Darlings have been making quite a name for themselves. With their self-titled, self produced album available from Spydersurf. The Darlings have been grabbing everyone’s attention. They have toured besides punk rock legends like Bad Religion, Pennywise and Guttermouth. Their début album The New Escape was released late 2010.
The Darlings, a power-pop quartet from Bangkok were born in 2003 after it became clear to the band's members that drinking whiskey and listening to records wasn't enough.
Distorted fuzz and incompetence. The Pop-Punk/Nerd-Rock do-wop power balladeers otherwise known as The Darlings don’t leave much room for objectivity: their music – best described as ‘sugar-snaps marinated in a can-o-whoopass’ – provides a purely visceral buzz, kinda like downing half-rack of Mountain Dew while inner-tubing, pellet gun in hand. Their live shows can best be described as “four demure boys getting metalheads and knee-sock clad P-rock Lolitas to chime along to the ‘oh-oh-oh-whao-wo-oh’ choruses of catchy, mid-tempo anthems (‘Faraway’, ‘Worse’), and tear it up for the hook-filled shredders (‘Who’s The Asshole’, their newest and, possibly, best song).” Comparisons to Weezer abound – it’s probably the slow song/fast song switch off, the fuzzy wall-of-guitar and root-noted bass sound, or, maybe, lead-singer Jeremy’s thick-rimmed specs. But The Darlings are less a self-conscious Power Pop formula band, and more of a straight-from-the-heart stab at the mantle of primal, four-chord rock ’n’ roll. - Nak Ling / The Eastbound Downers

The Darlings from London are now known as Allo, Darlin' (due to threats of legal action), a moniker for the songwriter Elizabeth Darling. Under the name The Darlings, they released a 3 track single on WeePOP! Records in November 2007, which sold out in a matter of weeks. The Photo EP included "Emily", a "Jolene" for our times, and a bare cover of AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long". Music blog Foggy Ruins Of Time says, "The Darlings Photo EP will soothe you, make you laugh, smile and shake you until you’re thoroughly hooked."
Where Do We Go
The Darlings Lyrics

with the punches that are thrown
words hit close to home
another one betrayed
Go!
have you ever been in that place
do you need the escape
gotta get away
we drive around on these streets tonight
Where do we go now I don't know
all I'm hearing is the radio
Reaping the whirlwind
choices made
give and take, give and take
Where do we go now I don't know
all I'm hearing is the radio
What will the tide bring ya never know
never know, never know
Ha never know
Hey!
to the nights that never end
sing a song for my friends
like a million times before
Hey!
to the loves that I have lost
bridges I have crossed
ain't coming back no more
We drive around on these streets tonight
Where do we go now I don't know
all I'm hearing is the radio
Reaping the whirlwind
choices made
give and take, give and take
Where do we go now I don't know
all I'm hearing is the radio
What will the tide bring ya never know
never know, never know
Ha never know
So let's go
So let's go
We drive around on these streets tonight
The city talks to me she's changed with time
We're moving on and on again
same scene plays on and on again
We're moving on and on again
Where do we go now I don't know
all I'm hearing is the radio
Reaping the whirlwind
choices made
give and take, give and take
Where do we go now I don't know
all I'm hearing is the radio
What will the tide bring ya never know
never know, never know
ha never know
Ha never know
So let's go
The lyrics to The Darlings' song, "Where Do We Go," explore themes of loss, confusion, and the search for identity in the midst of turbulence. With phrases like "roll with the punches," "words hit close to home," and "reaping the whirlwind," the song acknowledges the pain that comes from facing difficult situations, such as betrayal or the end of a relationship. Throughout the song, the singer seeks to escape from these struggles through music and friendship, driving around the city with their friends while listening to the radio. However, the chorus also highlights the singer's uncertainty about the future and the unpredictability of life, with lines like "Where do we go now I don't know / What will the tide bring ya never know."
Despite the feeling of uncertainty that pervades the lyrics, the end of the song also suggests a sense of possibility and hope. The repeated phrase, "So let's go," encourages the listener to move forward despite the challenges they face, and the final lines of the song imply that the singer and their friends will keep moving on and on, navigating the ups and downs of life together.
Overall, "Where Do We Go" is a poignant exploration of the difficulties of growing up and the search for meaning and direction in a constantly changing world. Through its combination of relatable lyrics and catchy, upbeat music, the song provides a cathartic outlet for listeners navigating similar struggles in their own lives.

Rancid and Authority Zero are great, and while they're spawning great bands like this, They're still keeping the Punk ideals and ideas alive. I love it. :D

Great video and a great song. I have seen these guys open for Pennywise and Street Dogs. They are a great live band and they rep the same home town as Pennywise. Check out their stuff...these guys are going to be BIG!
Hagen226
These guys are DIY...no label, not signed. They did this video themselves...and you're right the scene is going strong with bands like this who are keeping it real, rather than going emo.

I've never heard of them, they sound like a good band but they got to write more than one chorus but they have potential, honestly.
