The Beginning Of The End
The Death March Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Principium finis venit
Expergiscimini

Progredimini, Bellatores Albi!
Delete legatum Deorum Veterum
Ut progrediamini ad mundum novum!

Delete fatum creatum Dis Veteribus
Ut faciatis omnes caelum et terram nostras!

Nonne auditis clamores vitarum evanescentium?
Eorum Phoenix numquam resurget rursum.

Fine fortasse nihil est.
Fine fortasse nihil est vobis lucrari.

Currite, Bellatores Rubri!
Donec animi dati Matre
exstinguant.

Pugnate, Bellatores Rubri!
Donec mundus fictus Matre
finiatur rursum.

Currite per hunc mundum sine
Memoria ulla mortuorum,

usque ad diem quo Mors vobis basium de
quod fato vestro liberet vos.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of The Beginning of the End by The Death March suggest that the end of the current age is imminent and a new world is about to begin. The opening lines, "Principium finis venit / Expergiscimini," translate to "The beginning of the end has come / Wake up." This is a call to action to the "Albino Warriors" to progress beyond the legacy that the old gods left and move towards a new world.

The lyrics then suggest deleting the fatum creatum Dis Veteribus, meaning the fate that the old gods created, in order to create a new world of our own. The Phoenix, a mythical bird that represents rebirth, will never rise again, indicating that there is no going back to the way things were. They urge the "Red Warriors" to fight until their spirits extinguish and the world as we know it comes to an end, so that a new world can emerge.
