Kudos to Billy Strings for keeping this old classic alive.

My dad and his brother played music and prided themselves on replicating the Delmore Brothers. They played at alot of gatherings and get-togethers and on local radio in TN. They moved to Chicago and played in honky tonks.

Alton & Rabin Delmore....two of the hottest guitar pickers in the land, during the
20s, 30s, 4Os, and 50s.

You're pushing 40 now. Welcome to old.

@ragtimeD

I always thought Doc Watson got the guitar style he plays on this tune out out the thin air. Mr. Delmore [Alton?] picked the splinters out of it way back then!

They were so great. Love their songs & their pickin.

@bellgardens53

Are they great or are they great? Rabon played the four string tenor guitar and in most cases sang the harmony. Alton played the standard six string Spanish guitar and sang lead. But sometimes they would switch parts to get a better blend. GREAT music never die. Thanks posting it. ;O)
