The Devil and the Almighty Blues, in co-operation with the label Blues For The Red Sun from Tromsø, Norway, now present their self-titled debut album on February 16th, 2015. Armed with vintage Gibson guitars and tube amplifiers, they recorded the album live in studio. This was to preserve the natural and musical energy. The band took the time they needed in the studio to let the songs breathe. A new take on blues-based rock, heavy without becoming metal, slow without being doom, bluesy without being straight up and boring. The album has turned out slow, heavy, melodic and raw. The result is far from being a possible hit on the radio, but on the other hand it is one of the heaviest and coolest blues-based albums ever to be released from Oslo, Norway!
Slow, heavy, melodic and raw, all without losing the almighty blues out of sight

Distance
The Devil and The Almighty Blues Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I still feel sad, sometimes
Still get the feeling, oh the feeling
Of being mistreated
I only hear you
I only hear you from a distance now
I should have told you, right away
That the good times, all the good times we had
And the bad times, all the bad times we had
I only hear you
I only hear you from a distance now
We never got to talk about, to talk about
All the rights and the wrongs, the rights and the wrongs
That we kept in our hearts, hidden in our hearts
So what good is it, what good is it
I only hear you
I only hear you from a distance now
The lyrics to The Devil and The Almighty Blues's song Distance seem to be about a former love relationship that has ended, leaving the singer with feelings of sadness and mistreatment. The distance that he now feels could either be emotional or physical. The first stanza speaks of the distance that has now been created between the two, with the singer only able to hear the person from afar. Despite this distance, the memories of the relationship still serve to bring sadness to the singer, although there may be moments where he feels like he has been mistreated.
The second stanza speaks to the singer's regret, wishing he had spoken up sooner about how he felt. Perhaps, if he had been more vocal about his feelings, the relationship might have been different. The singer acknowledges the good and the bad times that they shared together, but without any further communication, it seems like it's too late to change things between them. The final stanza reveals that there are still unresolved issues between the two. There were things left unspoken, both positive and negative, that they held in their hearts without ever discussing. And now with the distance that has been created, it seems unlikely that they will ever get a chance to confront and resolve these unaddressed issues.
