The Dirty Denims play Happy Hardrock: hardrock that makes you feel good in a heartbeat. Combined with rock 'n roll, powerpop and a slice of punkrock it sounds like AC/DC, KISS, Joan Jett, Ramones and The Donnas. When playing live these rockchicks and guys are at their best; an energetic show of a band that exudes fun, likes audience participation and doesn't taking themselves too seriously.
The Dutch festival Lowlands defined their music as very tight punk- and hardrock, with riffs inspired by Ramones and AC/DC. Frontwoman Mirjam delivers the most recognizable element: a voice like Joan Jett and Debbie Harry. With their catchy songs and energy they will they will make you throw your fists in the air and scream “YEAH”!
The Dirty Denims played on large festivals like Lowlands, Rockin' Park, Zwarte Cross and Bospop and supported Slash, Whitesnake, Golden Earring, Extreme, Cheap Trick and Steel Panther. Their song “24-7-365” got them national airplay on the biggest radiostation of the country. The song also was featured in 2 international Comedy Central campaigns. The song “Back With A Bang!” is featured on the compilation-cd that comes with Classic Rock magazine UK, November 2017 (circulation 70,000 editions worldwide). In November 2021 they played their first tour in Spain and in 2022 they will go on tour with the Swedish band Thundermother.
On 12 May 2023, the band released a digital album of the sound files, 'Live at Rockpalast', of their “live” performance at Rockpalast in Bochum, Germany back in February 2022. The Dirty Denims‘ bassist at that time was Marc Eijkhout who was later replaced by Sebastiaan Verhoeven.
Dutch rockers The Dirty Denims consisting of lead vocalist / guitarist Mirjam Sieben, guitarist Jeroen Teunis and drummer Suzanne Driessen and bassist Sebastiaan Verhoeven have unveiled their latest single “Party On!” which will also be the title of their upcoming new studio album.

You always were a tough one
Someone who was making fun
Of every little misfit
And everyone who's worth it
I was one of them, from AM to PM
You gave me all your ways to ignore
And now you want me and more
Hit me with your best shot
Come on is that all you got?
Hit me with your best shot
Come on is that all you got?
Now I am the tough one
Someone who is making fun
Of everything you have been
You have to take it on the chin
That's where I am, from AM to FM
You hear me on the radio
You let your eyes on me, so let me see
What have you got for me?
Hit me with your best shot
Come on is that all you got?
Hit me with your best shot
Come on is that all you got?
Hit me with your best shot
Come on is that all you got?
Hit me with your best shot
Come on is that all you got?
Hit me with your best shot!
Hit me with your best shot
Come on is that all you got?
Hit me with your best shot
Come on is that all you got?
Hit me with your best shot
Come on is that all you got?
Hit me with your best shot
Come on is that all you got?
The lyrics to "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" by The Dirty Denims convey a message of empowerment and resilience in the face of criticism and negativity. The song starts with the singer acknowledging that they were once someone who was made fun of, a misfit, by the person they are addressing. However, the singer has now found success as a member of a band, and the dynamic between them has shifted. The person who used to belittle them now wants their attention and approval.
The chorus, "Hit me with your best shot, come on is that all you got?" represents the singer's defiance and challenge to their former tormentor. It's a call for them to try and bring their best insults or criticism, but ultimately it won't affect the singer anymore. The tables have turned, and now it's the singer who has the upper hand, making fun of everything the person stands for.
The lyrics reflect a sense of self-assurance, as the singer has transformed from a target of bullying into a confident and successful individual. They are now able to take pleasure in seeing their oppressor struggle to bring them down. The song ends on a repeated demand to be faced with the best the person has to offer, highlighting the singer's conviction that they have the strength to withstand any attacks or negativity.
Overall, "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" celebrates the triumph over adversity, the ability to rise above negativity, and the empowerment that comes from overcoming past struggles.
