I had a very Disturbed childhood, and this band was the only outlet to provide that initial push to persevere through the unfathomable actions from my mother. I associate this song, in particular, to my biological mother who caused so much pain amongst 6+ siblings. Every time I was on the brink of despair I would listen to Indestructible or Haunted and remind myself that I too, was disturbed, and could be redeemed.

Coming from someone who grew up in a house with 11 other people and slept in a closet for the majority of my childhood, I fucking feel you with all my heart brother. Things get better with time, and with self-love. It took me a long time but now I’m a 4.0 student in college and I’m gonna be a psych major to help other people who feel the same way we do
