1. The Dodos are an indie folk band from San Francisco, CA, United States, formed in 2005. Almost all of their albums (except the very first one) are credited to Dodos (without 'The'), but they made their recording début as The Dodos and are listed as such on streaming platforms, which is why most of their scrobbles end up here. The Dodos is the preferred spelling. The band has two core members: Meric Long (vocals, guitar) and Logan Kroeber (drums). They have released eight studio albums since mid-2006: Beware of the Maniacs (2006), Visiter (2008), Time to Die (2009), No Color (2011), Carrier (2013), Individ (2015), Certainty Waves (2018) and Grizzly Peak (2021).
2. Having evolved in late 1979 out of Swansea punk band The Urge, The Dodos were named after the ephedrine-laced asthma tablets, consisting of Dickie Evans (vocals), Phil Roberts (guitar), Anthony Reed (bass) and Steve 'Gagsy' Garland (drums). They contributed a song (1981's 'Blind To Fiction') to a rare compilation called Sex, Violence and the Eternal Truth.
3. The Dodos were a very short-lived British rock band of the late 1960s. They released just one single: 'I Made Up My Mind' b/w 'Can't Make It Out' (Polydor, 1967). Both sides were penned by the band's main songwriter, Alan Hawkshaw.
The Season
The Dodos Lyrics

I have this dream I think of it still sometimes
I know it's just the season
I sense no time or reason
The sky falls down; it's evening
The feeling goes; it's leaving
Miles until this desert brings me back to your face
But you're away in Eden
And I'm still here the heathen
This times for real, we're even
We do this for the season
I cross the sand
Without your hand
I go back to
Where you and I began
And I was yours
And you were mine
Things seem so soon to say goodbye
I hope you're well as I am fine
I keep to myself where I go where I lie
I woke up in a cave
No air no light no shade
When did things turn this way?
I miss you on certain days
The lyrics of The Dodos song, The Season, narrate the story of a person who is struggling with a separation from a loved one. The singer is searching for a way to reconcile and return to his loved one, and the journey is expressed through vivid and descriptive imagery. The person is somewhere in between an ocean and a mountainside, lost in his thoughts about the separation. The emotions of the season take over, and the person feels a sense of despair and sadness as the sky falls down and evening comes. The feeling leaves, and there is no sense of time or reason. However, the person longs to return to his loved one, waiting in Eden. The singer feels like a heathen, with his loved one in paradise, and he is miles away. The two people are even, and the separation is only for a moment, for the current season that they are in.
As the person crosses the sand on his journey, he remembers the time when he was with his loved one. He felt like everything belonged to him, and she felt the same. However, the two people are now far away from each other, and the person is left to go back to where they began. The person is alone and lost in his thoughts as he journeys through the sand. The lyrics show the feelings of longing, loss, and frustration at the separation between the two people.
The last part of the lyrics of The Season are a bit obscure, with the person waking up in a cave with no air, shade, or light. The person longs for his loved one despite his situation. He misses her, but he can't do anything about it. The lyrics speak about how no matter the situation, separation feels the same, and the emotions are universal.

Heard this song from a long boarding video looong time ago, then my cousin Granit liked the song and passed it on to his buddies. That's the beautiful thing about a great song, it connects all of us in some way.
